Chapter 31: Mated

Alarick punctured the skin near her neck, right below the space of column of her neck and ear. Sinking his teeth deep within, marking her exactly on the spot where his mate mark will bloom which will now belong to him, making all the other males know that she belongs to him.

She is his mate.

Ashley bleeds a little from the spot he has his fangs inserted in, tilting her neck more as the adrenaline rushed in her body from new form feeling, making him suck on his mark harder to feel her taste some more. She later started going limp in his embrace like he was sucking the life out of her.

Her Luna side going back satisfied by getting marked from her Alpha, giving Ashley the control back. Ashley breathing heavily realised what happened while her eyes closing down, she knew that this wasn't the end of it, she was more frightened for what was coming next, the final mate bonding.

Ashley hesitantly pulled out the syringe filled with high sleeping dose. Cautiously, she extended her hand ready to shoot to the Alpha who's glued to her.

Alarick halted on her neck, Ashley shot him with the syringe, making him stumble back as his eyes dilating back to normal, his wolf giving him the control. He saw her standing there, looking back at him as she let out a large puff of air while her neck bled from his bite. He closed his eyes with a final look at her.

Alarick fell down, his pheromones lowering down, others ran inside to help their Alpha. Alarick's mother had a look of discomfort on her face because she for once, never thought Alarick will ever mark her and other, that she was now scared that everyone will know who exactly Ashley is and, more frightened because she exactly knew what she was doing when she was going to use that syringe on Ashley.

Ashley stumbled, exhausted and worn out, holding the table behind her. Louis and Kai ran up to her. Her right hand extending up to her neck, looking at her own blood, feeling her neck and the area he bit burning like a coal and her pulse pumping vigorously like someone poisoned her.

Her eyes closed finally, going limp, falling down but before she could hit the ground, Kai gathered her in his arms, scooping her up bridal style.

Louis gulped down.

Kai embracing her in, secure and careful. Taking her out of the basement and towards Louis's clinic.

Louis was trying to attend to Ashley by putting her on IV and cleaning her mark. She hissed in her dishevelled state. Kai grabbed Louis hand, stopping him after seeing Ashley twisting and turning in pain, in her subconscious state. Louis eyes danced from the grip on his hand of this warrior male towards his dark eyes. A little irked from his behaviour.

"She is pain, can't you be more considerate?" Kai asked, pissed

Louis was mad now, "I should be the considerate one as well, now. She is my best friend; I know how to take care of her" he exclaimed

"You do know, that's why you gave the high dose of suppressants to the females there. Knowing very well that it could affect her health, she could become infertile, mentally unstable or it can even corrode her organs, huh?" questioning him, accusingly

Lionel entered the room, fixing his doctor's coat while trying to understand the commotion happening in front of him.

"I did not do it. I was with Alpha all this time" Louis fired back

"Boys..." Lionel started, interrupting the bickering between the two males.

"If you are not going to help. Leave with your friend" he added softly

Louis face turned red in anger, "He is no one to me" yelling, he marched out while Kai tailing behind.

Few days later, Alarick was on his way in hurry towards Ashley's house.

The news of Alarick's mate is the first female Alpha Ashley and their hypnotising marking scene spread like a wildfire. Everybody was talking about how they looked amazing together and more in detailed about her confusing uncertain heat coming and their bonding. Some still confused why Ashley and Alarick then not living together while other pack members questioning if they knew they were each other's mate before? if so, why hide it and if not, what in werewolf world was going on?

One of the many reasons Ashley really wished she was just normal human, so she could be saved from these kinds of gossips but then she sighed thinking, humans has to deal with so many unnecessary things as well. Being a half human herself.

But today, Ashley was smiling she was happy. Reason? Alarick was coming to meet her. They've known each other for so long now and she know, it may have happened in the moment of Heat but she knew for sure that he was not only good Alpha who wants to make a good pack and have them grow out of the mediocrity they've severed for years but also build a good pack for growing children. He was an amazing human being, he mastered not only to be the youngest Alpha but also a brilliant business tycoon, he knows how to respect people and how to put others in their place.

That's what struck Ashley the most. One of the reasons she had called him here today. He always respected her, her pack. He helped her when she had no one left in this world. She loved how he also wanted to strength she-wolfs of the pack but also how he was there for her when business crisis came her way and people just wanted to manipulate her, taking advantage of her.

She smiled to herself thinking, yes, he was always there for her.

She didn't care that the feeling she was getting was because he marked her or that was her heart desires but she is not kind of person who'll sit in the corner and keep thinking on all kinds of possibilities, she is one to take the action.

Alarick knocked on the door and Ashley opened with a bright smile. He didn't share a second blink of glance and walked inside the house. Her innocent heart smiled and walked with him. He stopped in between the house, his back towards her

"Alarick, I have something I wanted to tell you"

He did not turn nor made a sound, taking this as his positive response she continued pouring her heart out.

"I know that we have a history and things that happened between us, but I also know that one of the most important things in life is- Respect. For me love is important but what I really desired is respect. I thought if with time we ever may fall out of love or if our priorities get changed but respect is what I truly wished from my mate, from the person that cares for me and matters to me."

"WHAT are you trying to say, Ashley?" Alarick muttered putting weight on each word

"That... I think, I really care about you and want to be part of your life. I want to be the most important person in your life too like you've become mine, so, can I?" Ashley asked softly, her smile spreading brightly across her face

Her heart was beating heavy, feeling light from the confession but tingling from inside. Her mark gleaming like a budding flower, ending jittery feeling all over her body. Her palms rubbing against her arm waiting patiently and hesitantly for his reply with a lingering smile.
