Chapter 11: Dreamy Rain

She went to her school next day, her mid-terms were on the way and she was terrible in studies. Though she hated studying she loves to read, to know stuff and things around the world but above all this if as a profession she had to choose it'll be always a warrior. The aura they held always tempted her, the power they hold, the merciless nature and their striking personality. She always wanted that, she never cared much on being Alpha after her father, she wanted to become someone people look up to.

She was sitting in library, trying her best to study so she could at least pass high school. It was starting to get dark slowly as black clouds covered the sky, rumbling loud. The windows were open and nice breeze was coming inside. First yawn came following by second one, she slowly drifted off to sleep on her books. The clouds rumbled with a fast lightening shining and heavy rain falling down.

Alarick was in his office working, as sudden change in weather caught his attention, he closed his laptop and moved near the glassed window, looking outside as people made run for their homes.

Ashley frowned in her sleep as she heard sound of her water drops falling one after other. Her grip tightened on her book as it started becoming clear,

The color of leaves were dull, not green anymore as they rustled in heavy rain, the heavy water falling and screams of people was vaguely heard. She again heard the drops of water falling somewhere. They were loud and clear in the chaos, she was seeing in front of her eyes.
Her eyes finally fell on the waterfalls. It was so pure and luxuriously shining, it looked divine. Her eyes then fell on where the sound was coming from, first drop of blood and then another, it was getting dropped in the water. Slowly rest of surrounding blurred out as she neared the falls, she tried to look around but like some force was pulling her towards the person lying there, lifeless while the blood coming from the person keeps falling in the falls.

Ashley's eyes opened up. Frightened. She slowly got hold of her surroundings. It was a dream but it felt too real, shaking her thoughts she scurries away, trembling she tried to grab her stuff to go home, the lifeless face still flashing in front of her eyes.

Ashley tucked the earphones inside her ear, listening to the music as she felt a bad feeling entering her gut.

A black car parked in front of her, standing there without moving. She looked at it once and decided that the rain does not seem that heavy, so Ashley started walking towards the bus stands. The car too started moving along with her, if someone was in her place they would've got scared from 'getting kidnapped' vibes but for Ashley, it just irked her some more. Halting in her steps, she turned towards the car, glaringly stood watching them, challenging to move away, she knew they can't do anything in front of crowded school or even try to kidnap, an Alpha like her. The car window rolled down and her eyes widen a little more looking at the person sitting inside, in a suit.

In that drizzling rain, she stood looking at him in bewilderment, when he first spoke

"Get inside" his voice low and gruffy

Nobody and I repeat nobody order me around- her thoughts hit him loud and clear with venom laced with it

Ashley smiled wickedly and started walking ahead without giving him another glance. Angry Alarick huffed coming out of the car, taking her by hand, he put her on his shoulder, walking towards the car door.

Ashley screamed at him, thrashing on his back after realizing what he did. He threw her on the back seat, sliding in next to her. He signaled his driver to start the engine and drive, while she keeps glaring at him from side. He didn't spare her a single glance but muttered lowly to her

"Do you want to kiss me so bad that you can't keep your eyes off me?" he smirked

Ashley narrowed her eyes in annoyance, "You are The Most Obnoxious person I've ever met in my life" rolling her eyes, she looked out of the window

They reached the pack house, Ashley's head was leaning on the side of window glass, eyes closed, she looked so peaceful to him when he glanced to her side. He leaned forward to check on her but her alluring scent hit him hard, flaring his nostrils. He closed his eyes to control himself from this temptation.

Alarick leaned a little closer to her, his pointed nose just ready to touch her soft, puffy cheeks.

Ashley opened her eyes, looking dead him in the eyes, her stare freezing him on the spot. They stared into each other's eyes, her lips parting a little, feeling the temperature suddenly rising and her heart pumping with erratic pace, making her breath turn heavy. She could see she was affecting him as much, as his veins started popping out and turning his pale skin a shade red.

Alarick leaned forward some more, his lips dangerously closer to hers. He was about to close that distance and get the taste of those tempting venom but Ashley turned her head to side, rejecting him.

"I don't sleep when I travel" she said, her eyes going cold.

Getting out of the car, she slammed the door in fury. Ashley cursed herself to even letting him come this close to her, she was flustered but thank god he didn't see it on her face, thanks to the pale eyes and tanned skin. She reminded herself that she has to get hold on her control, she can't let him waltz his way around cause of this stupid bond.

Alarick smacked his hand on the seat, furiously. How can he think that way about her? He keeps reminding himself that he loves Allison and hates this woman. It is because of this woman, Allison is no more, she is not here and can never be with him. Fisting his hand in tight grip, he walked out of the car too.
