That conversation, if you can call it that, made me pretty pissed. Looking back at it I'm surprised I didn't kill those two faster. It hurt to just walk away without the resolution I wanted, but I got it eventually. I think..

Alex hadn't gotten a bit of sleep that night, poor guy. Insomnia was kicking his ass, mixed with anxiety and worry, he was scared out of his mind. Scared for himself and his own safety. He only had himself to be scared for anyways. He didn't care for his parents at all, they could fall off the face of the earth for all he cared. He would prefer they did.

The boy had made his way to another casino. A safe one. Looking back at it the casino was pretty gay. It wouldn't be surprising if half the people were at least a little gay there. Everything was soft and rainbows in one row, bright and colorful in the others. Alex never paid attention to the name, just to how it looked. The people there were a lot different form anyone else. Best way to describe it? Ever been to a Starbucks? Yeah. That's how fruity it was. But the people there cared, and they were kind to Alex, so he didn't mind it.

For the next day or so he had stayed inside the casino, taken under the wing by the people in the place. He was a lot more than grateful that they didn't shun him or turn him away. They were human unlike the "normal" people in Nevada, so that was a comfort to him. In the time he spent there, he planned out what he was going to do. One step, one day, one word at a time. He wanted to get the answers he so desperately craved. And he was for damn sure going to get them.

So one day, he walked out towards the same casino he met his parents at. But as Alex was making his way through the fairly empty casino, he met an unexpected obstacle. Instead of his parents being at the last casino, he saw his mom outside of the one he was at. Great. Just.. amazing. He hid behind a group of people before slowly slinking his way to the wall. He carefully and stealthily made his way outside, hoping that she wasn't gone yet. He was a lot more than afraid to be doing this right now, but he had to. He needed his resolution, he wanted to know the reason behind the heartbreak and pain, he wanted his answers now. He was going to go insane without them.

As he approached his mother, he heard her talking. He was hidden completely by the night's shadowy gloom, eavesdropping on her conversation. Another feminine voice was ringing out from the phone. His mom spoke out. "So what you're saying is that after she told her son to go get a job, he turned around and stabbed her?! Oh that's horrible!" She went quiet as the other voice explained something to the large, ginger haired woman. Alex couldn't make out what the woman on the phone was saying, but he knew for a fact that it was gossip. "She kicked him out for that? How old was he?" Silence. "16?!" More silence. "Who would turn their child away at such a young age?! That's just cruel!" Alex had paid attention to that detail too much for comfort. You do. He thought to himself with an increasing anger.

Eventually he decided he didn't want to just stand there and listen to this woman talk. He knew that she was gonna be there a while, so he devised a plan. A very malicious one. He was going to use brute force to get her to talk. The boy weaved his way back to the storage closet by the bathrooms, down at the end of the hall which they were located. He walked in and looked around for a specific person. For now they shall remain unnamed, so I'll refer to them as janitor guy. So Alex looked for this person, and them specifically because they had something he would need. He swerved around the scattered shelves and eventually saw them walking out back through the large closet. It was called a closet but in reality it was the size of a storage unit and a half. He walked out behind them quickly and tapped their shoulder. Right as they were about to light their cigarette they looked behind themself at the boy. "What is it kid?" They said in their chipper and friendly voice. Alex looked up at them and said deadpan, "I'm going out. I need something to protect myself with."
