The TV- the horror on her face- dear god it's all comin' back to me now. It's happening all over again oh god- oh fuck- I can't do that again! I can't go through that again, even if I'm overreacting, I can't go through that hell again-

There on the TV was the news, the mutilated corpse from earlier was the star. Alex was nowhere to be seen, in fact the blood that was once gushing out of this grunt was just stale and dry, They must have just found the guy, because he was clearly there for a while. "Oh dear god, who did this? What kind of monster hurt this man so bad?" Sarah had said to herself, she was flabbergasted and it showed. Alex just silently sat there and watched the TV screen display different angles of the brutalized corpse, switching between the newscaster and the stranger. He was terrified, he fidgeted with his sleeve nervously. What if she found out?

What if Sarah somehow fit the pieces together and figured out that Alex was the one who had killed that grunt, the one who had distorted that person so cruelly, the one person who committed a fucking crime. He could be arrested for this! His eyes were wide and his jaw was locked as he waited. He tuned the TV out, he wasn't even watching it anymore. "Who could've done such an awful thing.." He heard from the girl next to him. She seemed to have trouble processing that someone would do this, but she also sounded as if this  has happened before. Like she's seen a crime happen in front of her very cross.

That disturbed the boy more than the TV did, the fact that this girl sounds like she's not naive nor new to murder. Like she's watched it and seen it reported at least once before. It was so odd, everything about this hellhole was odd. Nevada was such an odd place. Sarah turned off the TV and looked over to Alex. "Y'know what worries me most?" She said to him. He forced a 'Hm?' out of his lungs, not wanting to just play the silent game with her. "That person could've been one of us. If you had gotten hurt somewhere else that could've been you. And it scares me." She explained. The funny thing is, he did get hurt there. On that sidewalk, the knife in his pocket being the exact same one that grunt was murdered with.

"Could've been you, too. That makes me worried." He said in response. Of course he wasn't lying that he would've been worried for Sarah, but the ting about everything was that he wasn't worried for her risk of being that dead grunt. He can at least live with the satisfaction that she wouldn't be killed by the same madman that brutally murdered and tortured that  grunt. Because he was that madman. He's the murderer, the killer in this horror story. And she didn't even know that he was. The girl had taken a hand and ran it through her own hair, still keeping her hood on. She never took it off, Alex didn't know what she looked like without it on.

The boy did indeed want to see her with it off eventually, but he wouldn't poke and prod about it. He knows his boundaries. Like a sharp dagger, the girl's voice cut through his thoughts like they were butter. "I'm just glad we're both home safe. I haven't known you for very long, Alex, but I want to keep you around. You're one of a kind." She said. Her words were so kind and genuine, he was enticed to hear more. He wanted to show some sort of happiness, something positive, so he made that face that he's made once or twice before. A deep rumble erupted from his chest, it caught him off guard. It felt like something was in his throat, and every time he breathed the hum of whatever this was continued.

Was he.. purring? The fuck? How is he even doing that? Maybe whatever was in that tranquilizer made him all genetically fucked up, first the gray skin, then losing his face, and now this? This is genuinely so weird, it's all new. Sarah picked up on the deep buzz, raising a brow at it. "Are you doing that on purpose?" "Doing what?" "That." She gently laid a hand on his chest. The sound got louder and the vibrations that slowly rumbled out through his upper half got stronger. He was sort of freaked out by whatever this was, Alex was more than 100 percent sure that people don't do this. At least they're not supposed to.

He stared at the small and feminine hand on his own chest, red in the face and wide eyed. He had absolutely no clue how to handle this, and to make matters worse he was leaning into the touch on complete accident. "You like this?" She asked. Growing a bit drowsy from how comfortable he was getting, he nodded. The girl chuckled sweetly and moved her hand carefully up to his cheek, and then into his hair. That signature curly dark ginger hair. She ran her hands intricately through it, gentle and caring. At this point she's sealed her own fate, let's be honest.

The more she combed her hand through his hair the more he buzzed. His mind was going absolutely bonkers, he needed to either chill out or get used to this. In a blink of an eye the boy was flopped lazily against the other, his eyes shut and his body relaxed. She hadn't stopped, she had him wrapped up in some sort of spell. He was addicted to the feeling and wanted it to last forever, he will do all that he can to keep it. No matter what. "You really are a sweet boy. Honestly." She said. God-- the compliments just keep coming huh? "You're sweet too. Makes me happy." He answered. Some people could think he's stupid with the way he talks. I don't blame them.

I mean, look at who he's on right now. Who he's spending his time with. Who wouldn't think he's stupid?
