Dear god..
It was finally over... Sarah was gone for good. For the time being, Alex went back to her place and grabbed anything of his out of it, including anything he may need. For now. He stole the keys to Sarah's car, driving to the gas station nearby with a few gas cans in the back of the trunk. He had one intent in mind. He filled up the cans, not even caring that he was still smoking near the pumps and not paying for the gas. It wasn't like he was going to be coming back anyway. He drove back, pure bliss and quiet for once filling his mind as if the voices were just too astonished to speak for now.
He entered the house one last time, taking the rest of Tanya's belongings and packing them up nice and neat in a couple boxes, throwing them into the back seat of the car. He returned to the house with the gas cans, walking inside and going over to Sarah's room. His curiosity got to the best of him though, so the man set down the can on the floor and started searching everything. He found a few suspicious things, like a notebook. A diary even at that point, along with photos. Lots and lots of them, there were pictures of Tanya, someone else, even the man himself. All of which were taken in the gun room.
And then there was a small device, seemingly it was an ipod but who knows. He looked through it, finding a couple photos and a single video. The photos were like the last ones, but the video was rather intriguing. He played it to see what it was all about. It started with a shot of Sarah, she looked younger and more alive. Her hood was still on though. "Hi! If you've found this, you're either coming to snoop, steal, or I've gone missing or died! Either way, those aren't very good things now are they? But while you're here, I might as well introduce myself! My full name is Sarah Harriette Goodman, my birthday is April 20th, 1998. I was born and raised in Nevada, and I've never been affiliated with any faction and do not intend to be. My mother's full maiden name was Kim Joy, and my father's was--" The video glitched for a moment. Alex frustratedly bonked the device against the bed to get it to work.
"--Goodman, and I have no siblings. I dropped out of high school, and will most likely get a job. Now, I've introduced myself! Since I don't have anything to hide anymore, I will tell the lucky finder of this video that I have secrets. Yes! Secrets! There are cameras set up all over the house, and the basement door is hidden by a large stand in the middle of the weapon closet. I have things hidden down there, but be warned! You may want to bring a gas mask down with you, and if you don't have one that's ok, because I've put one under the stand. It's on the inside of it, hanging by a nail. That's all I have to say for now, last one to find my body is a rotten egg!"
The video abruptly cut off. That was creepy as fuck. Like, extremely creepy, so much so that Alex felt a knot in his stomach with dread and fear. But now that he knew about it, he couldn't resist going to see what the basement was about. He's seen enough horror movies and read enough stories to know that the basement is bad news, but his curiosity was starting to get to the better of him. A lot more than it should, but for now he just continued to search through everything. He stuffed a few things worth keeping into his pockets and such, but the rest was just thrown around. After he was sure he looked through everything, he doused the whole room in gasoline. He carried the can out and threw it over by the car. It went further than that though, Alex is just too strong for his own good or comfort.
He then went through the rest of the house, picking up things he wanted to steal, which in all actuality isn't a whole lot of things. Not much was really worth bringing along, though he would miss how cozy the house looked he still wouldn't miss it too terribly much. The memories still lingered, so that's not good. It wont go away either. Before he went on, he went into the weapon room and moved that stand. It was sort of heavy even for him, but he did it. He grabbed the gas mask from under it and started to dump the gas cans all over everything. Making sure every inch of this house was bound to go up in flames and never be put out. Ever. He didn't want this house to stand for a moment longer, but he still had to check out the basement.
Eventually it started getting tough to breathe with all the gas fumes, but he only made it worse by covering all the other rooms. However he purposefully skipped Tanya's empty room purely because he would feel awful for it, she didn't deserve any of the things she went through, and he felt disrespectful even burning her old home. But maybe she lives in a better place in wherever dead people go. Like.. the ground. I mean, soil is kinda comfortable to sit or lay in to be completely honest, as long as there aren't things sticking out of it and there aren't bugs and worms crawling all throughout it. Although that's sort of a guarantee with that kinda stuff, don't you think?
Finally, he finished with the gas pouring. Six whole gas cans used for this medium sized trailer home sort of place. But there was still one thing left for this red haired menace of a teen to check out, and that was the basement. Every instinct in his body was screaming for him not to, but like I said earlier, his curiosity was getting the best of him. Slowly he walked back into the room, checking out all the other guns. Just for safe measure, he took another revolver and it's necessary accessories and took it with him, so now he has two. He slowly opened up the door to the basement, nothing but shadow greeting him.
Then the smell hit him.
