Sydney struggled at first. She was so tired from the babies, still healing from the birth, and the babies wore her out. Even with her friends trying help. They had jobs. Lila and Joe had health problems. It was non stop Sydney tried nursing two babies at one time and bottle feeding the third. She tried take turns. She struggled and felt like a failure as a mom because she couldn't tell the girls apart. She had kept the name bracelets on so that she didn't get them mixed up. Her friends told her not to be so hard on herself. That they were identical. But she would get to know them and see a difference. There was a lady at their church who had a friend who had twins, so she came to visit Sydney, and she told her at first her and her husband couldn't tell their boys apart, but they ended up deciding to dress them in different colors and then they could keep it straight and then their little personalities came out and their personalities were different.
So Sydney dressed Madison in yellow and Morgan in pink. It was non stop, one of the babies would cry and then wake up the other two, then she would get them all crying and try and comfort all of them, change all of them, and by time she got all 3 changed or fed then one of them pooped again needed another diaper change. Some days most days Sydney cried a long with them.
She felt like a failure and she told the babies she was so sorry, she was trying so hard. She loved them so much. The babies were her life. She only had the one picture of Tom that she had managed to put in her bag when she had to leave so fast. But it hurt her too much to look at so she had put it under her bed after she had first moved in. She was rocking the babies, she said mommy doesn't need a picture of daddy you three look just like your daddy. I loved your daddy so much and even though he broke my heart, I can't be sad now cause he gave me you three beautiful little angels. I love you so much. You are my heart my life.
Sydney only got out to take them to the doctor for their checkups. The babies were growing. Sydney still had the bracelets on and she felt bad about that, but her friends told her it was fine. Didn't mean she was a bad mom. Just be patient with yourself. Sydney's friend Roxy wanted to take Sydney out to lunch but Sydney didn't want the babies to get out around people. So Lila and one of the church ladies said go on and have a day off from the babies, we will take good care of them, Sydney said no thanks but they talked her into it, said that she needed to get away it would be good for her.
So she agreed to go to lunch and the movies but she was scared to death to leave them. She had not been apart from them, I mean since they were born but actually conceived. They had been with her; She kept calling home and the babies were asleep. They had plenty of bottles and diapers they had plenty of help a couple ladies were there and Lila the babies were fine. Sydney was miserable at the movies. So Roxy said "ok we can go, I can see you're miserable." Sydney and her left. Sydney said "I'm sorry. I just hate being away from them. I know they are fine" Roxy said "It's ok you love your babies you are the best mom"
Tom loved the Jump Street unit. They became a little family. There for each other. Doug went through a lot with Dorothy coming and going hurting him leaving him for other men. Then Doug got his heart broke a couple times by girls he tried to date after Dorothy left. Then she would come back. Harry went through several things one being he wasn't honest about where he was from, and they fought to keep him on the force, also a case that hit close to home for him because it involved a Vietnamese gang. Judy was raped on a case, by a guy that she was hanging out with. The guys all were there for her, but she felt closest to Tom. The night she was raped she went to Tom's apartment after, she wanted to tell him, but couldn't find the words, so told him that she heard noises could she stay with him for the night. Tom said sure and he got her blankets and a pillow wanted make sure she was ok. A few days later they all went out to celebrate with Adam the big bust they made, and Tom knew something was up with Judy. She had been acting weird kind of isolating herself from the group since that night she came over to his place, and that was weird to him that she came there saying she heard noises. Tom asked her to dance and asked her what was wrong why was she not happy that they made a huge bust, she should be celebrating. She told him it wasn't over and confided in him that he raped her. Tom took her to his house and they talked. She told him that she didn't report it why didn't she. She did everything wrong. Everything that she tells people on cases to do she did opposite. Tom took her to hospital and they did a rape kit even though it was a few days. Tom supported her was there for her to talk to him, and let her stay with him until she felt safe enough to go home. Tom and Doug made sure they got this guy on a lie.
