CHAPTER 49: DREAM WEDDING

  Tom had asked the girls if he could use their art kit, with the markers and glitter.  They were excited to let him, and he said that they and Thomas could help him. He was making something for mommy.    Tom took the poster board, and with the erasable marker, he drew a box, and it had a number so there was like 14 days to the wedding.  Then he let the kids decorate it with the glitter and stickers, he had heart shaped stickers, which the girls loved.  he had told the kids it was a surprise for mommy.

Sydney had gone to the grocery store, she came home, the kids ran out of the bedroom to meet her, see if she bought them anything, which she did.  The girls had stickers on their faces.

Sydney said, "Madison, Morgan come back here."  They had taken their gummy bears, and animal crackers with Tommy to watch cartoons.  They said, "mommy what" She said, "where did you get the stickers."  They laughed.  They said, "from daddy"  They ran to the living room laughing.  Sydney laughed.

Tom came out of the bedroom, with the poster behind his back.  He headed in the kitchen; the kids went with him. He said, "hey baby" He kissed Sydney's cheek.  She said, "hey Hanson can you do me a favor" He said, "Sure" She said, "there are 3 sacks still in your car, can you go get them for me please" He said, "yeah" Sydney said, "Wait, what is in your hands" He said "What" The kids were laughing.  Sydney said, "Tom you are hiding something behind your back."  He said, "me no" The kids were laughing so hard. Sydney laughed.  She said, "Thomas is your daddy hiding something from mommy" Thomas said, "yes mommy" He laughed.

Sydney said, "Tom" He said, "Kids we ready to give it to her" They said, "yes" Tom handed her the poster board.  Sydney laughed.  It said, in big blue letters Tom and Sydney's wedding countdown, then had the number.  Tom said, "it's erasable marker so each day, I'm counting down" He kissed her.  She said, "I love you" He said, "I love you too"

A week passed, and so there were only 7 days to go. Tom had marked with the kids help each day.  Sydney was a little stressed. Tom noticed she seemed a little stressed at work. He hoped that she wasn't having second thoughts. He wanted to marry her so bad, it's all he could think about, but he was feeling guilty that maybe he is rushing her into this marriage. Like only giving her 3 weeks.

Tom took her to a long lunch. He said, "baby if I've pressured you into this, and you need more time" She said, "no why would you think that" He said, "it's just the closer it gets to our wedding, I notice you are getting more stressed. Especially at work you seem on edge."

Sydney said, "I am, but it's not that I'm having second thoughts" He said, "honey I know you just turned 21 and then to be proposed to and marriage in 3 weeks, if it's too much" Sydney said, "it's not that. I'm just worried."  He said, "About what" She said, "Tom you, I'm worried about you. I mean your life has changed so much you went from single to a man with 3 kids, and now a wife."  He said, "I want that honey" Sydney said "I know but I feel like that I'm robbing you of being a normal guy and going out and celebrating his last night of freedom with his friends. I don't want you to regret not having this moment" Tom said "Sydney I want to be with Thomas ok. Just him and me, in fact I'm planning on doing the same thing when Thomas is old enough and gets married, see if he will let me take him out, " Sydney said, "oh dear God, please don't say that I mean have Thomas old enough to be married.  I already fear I won't like his wife" Tom laughed.

He said, "I know he's your baby" Sydney said, "yes" Tom kissed her.  He said, "Sydney, I want to share this with Thomas. It means a lot to me. It's like the 2 guys named after my dad, it will be like my dad is with us" Sydney said, "ok. I just don't want you to regret" Tom said, "I won't. I don't want to have a party ok."

Friday comes, and Tom and Sydney took off.  Friday afternoon Tom took the girls to a movie they wanted to see, and they had popcorn and pop and candy. Sydney took Thomas to a movie he wanted to see.  After that Tom took Thomas to dinner, and Sydney went with Judy and Tom's mom and the girls to dinner.  Then Tom and Sydney met with the kids at Jake's. Where Doug, Judy, Harry, and Booker and Adam and all the other cops threw them a party.
