CHAPTER 54: LIFE AND DEATH

The months passed.  The kids were getting tired of not being able to go anywhere, they didn't understand. Tom went with Sydney to all her appointments.  When they got to see the video of the baby Tom and Sydney both cried.  Tom was holding Sydney's hand, while they watched.

He kissed her.  He said, "I have no words to describe what I'm feeling."  The doctor asked if they wanted to know the sex of the baby. Tom said, "Sydney" Sydney said, "Tom, it's up to you."  The doctor left and said she would be back.  Tom said, "Did you find out when you had the triplets" Sydney said, "yes, I wanted to know" He said, "you want to know on this one" Sydney said, "I will do whatever you want. Since you missed the triplet's births, if you want to be surprised it's good."  

He said, "I think we should find out now, I mean the kids keep asking" Sydney said, "yes" Tom said, "ok so we are going to find out huh" Sydney kissed him.

The doctor came back.  She said, "What did you decide" Sydney said, "We want to know, our 3 are asking every week" She laughed. She said, "Well, you can tell them they are definitely having a baby brother"

Tom said, "it's a boy" He smiled.  Sydney said, 'Thomas will be happy, it is going to be evened out huh dad" Tom smiled.  He kissed Sydney. The doctor said that she would get the video for them, that they could take home.

Tom said, "Wow honey I'm having another son. I mean you are having another son; I mean we are."  She laughed. He said, " I would have been thrilled with a girl too"   Sydney said, "i know same" He said, "I just want a healthy baby and you are healthy and the kids safe."  Sydney kissed him.

They went home.  Tom insisted on carrying Sydney. Which she let him do.

The kids ran to greet them.  Tom said, "Guess what guys" They said, "What daddy" He said, "We got a movie and pictures of your baby brother" Thomas said, 'it's a boy, yes" He high-fives Tom.  Everyone laughed. Tom said, "Girls, I know you wanted a little sister, will a little brother do" They said, "yes daddy, we will still help mommy take care of him."  Tom smiled. Madison said, "mommy maybe your next baby will be a girl" Sydney looked at Tom. She laughed. She said, "my next baby  honey let me have this one first."

Thomas said, "Daddy, I can show him out to play video games, and maybe my train, he will like too" Madison said, "Tommy, I bet he will snakes like you and daddy" Everyone laughed.

There was a knock on the door.  Judy said she would go get it.  The intercom had buzzed and said it was safe.

Judy opened the door.  She screamed, "Oh my God" She jumped in Dennis's arms. Tom got up

He came in with Judy.  Tom said, "Booker, oh my God."  Sydney got up.  Dennis said, 'Surprise" Judy said, "I don't I'm so happy to see you, I just don't Adam said,"   He said, "i know sorry about that. We thought it was best to put news out that I was in a coma, in case they would try and finish me off. since i can id them"

Tom said, "I'm so glad to see you."  The girls said, "Dennis hi," They went and gave him a hug. Telling him how much they missed him.

Tom's mom took the kids in the kitchen.  Tom said, "Dennis, I am so sorry."  He said, '"Hanson, it's not your fault" Tom said, 'They are after me."  Dennis said, 'yes because you were doing your job, a job that any of us might have been assigned. We knew the risk when we signed up. It's not your fault" Sydney said, "I've been telling him that."  Judy said, "yes so have I. But he doesn't listen"

Dennis said, "all that matters Hanson, is that you stay safe and keep your very pregnant wife, and kids safe" Sydney and Tom laughed.  Dennis said, "how are you feeling Sydney" Sydney said, "pretty good. I'm so happy to see you" Tom said, "we just got back from the doctor, baby is doing good, it's a boy" Dennis said, "congratulations guys" They said, 'Thanks"
