Friday morning Sydney woke up and went into the kitchen. She made a strawberry banana smoothie and sat at the table making a shopping list. Her phone rang. It was Tom. She looked make sure kids hadn't came out yet, she answered and said "hey Hanson" Tom said "morning beautiful. So did you dream about me?" She said "maybe question is did you dream about me?" Tom said "Definitely." Sydney said "Well let's hear about your dream" Tom said "well I fixed you dinner, and asked you to dance, and then I kissed you, and then I took you and made love to you all night" She said "Damn all night huh we must have had the same dream" They laughed. Sydney said "Tom I'm sorry I can't" He said "don't be. I understand.. So are the kids up yet." Sydney said "no not yet." Tom said "I'll see you in a little bit." Sydney said "ok bye" Tom said "I love you." Sydney said "I love you too."
The kids came running out and ran into the kitchen looking for Tom. They said "mommy is Tom in the bathroom" Sydney said "no Tom is at his house." They looked sad. Sydney said "Don't look so sad, he's going to come over in a little bit and take us to the store." Tommy said "mommy are we going to store before day care" Sydney said "Well Tom and I are off so if you want to stay home then you guys can or we can drop you off." They said "stay home"
Tom came over. Kids ran and gave him a hug. Sydney said "Tom I thought we could take the kids to that petting zoo that Judy was talking about that has the train and then go to the train restaurant." Tom said "cool sounds good." The kids were all excited. They did that and then went to store and then to Sydney's. The kids took a nap. Tom said "Sydney anything else I need to get for tonight" Sydney said "I was thinking about something the girls could do too, maybe if you rented their favorite movies. I have a list." He said "ok got it." She said "and if you can go ahead and put the groceries in your fridge." Tom said "ok I am going to go. I will see you later I love you." Tom kissed her and left.
Kids were all excited when they woke up and wanted to go on over to Tom's. Sydney told them to pack their bags. Sydney called Tom. He said "hello" She said "hey kids are wanting to come now if it's ok" Tom said "yeah it's fine. Can't wait to see you guys."
Sydney got them in her car and drove to Tom's. Tom was waiting outside and walked to the car. Sydney said "Hey can you get the girls out" Tom said "Sure." Tom opened the door and Sydney said "oh no" Tom looked at her. Madison said "mommy what's wrong." Sydney said "I forgot to text someone at work. Tom could you look at it for me and make sure it's ok" Tom said "Sure." Sydney texted him I totally forgot but did you remove all the pictures of us? Kids can't see those yet." Tom looked at Sydney. He shook his head. She said "kids can we go back to the car just for a minute" They said "ok" Tom went in and took all the photos off the wall and his tv and hid them in the closet. He texted it was ok so they went in.
Kids looked around. Sydney said "Tom can you show us so I can put their bags up." Tom said "Sure." He led them to his extra bedroom. Sydney said "ok let's unpack your clothes, and then you can get your toys out. Tommy said "mommy I can't wait to play Tom's game. I hope I do ok." Tom said "You will do great." Sydney smiled.
Tom went back into the living room. Sydney said "kids why don't you play with your toys awhile ok in here." They said "ok mommy" Sydney followed him. She said "hey I just wanted tell you the kids are so excited to be here." Tom smiled. Sydney said "I'm sorry Tommy." He said "For what." Sydney said "everything." She cried. She couldn't stop the tears. Tom said "Sydney did I do something wrong" Sydney said "no I just you missed 3 years with the kids, and they missed the 3 years being with their dad, I feel like it's my fault" Tom said "No it's my fault. I wish I would have made sure to let you know that I was only saying that to protect you and get you out of there. I had just got the news about Maria was still in shock. I'm sorry Sydney. I'm so in awe of you. I really am. So proud of you. How strong you are. I mean you had to leave town, leave everything and run from your parents, not many teenager girls would do that Sydney. Leaving town starting up in a new town and then being pregnant and alone and scared and having 3 babies at once." Tom caressed her face. She said "I should have tried to find you I guess. But I really thought you would be with Angie, and I thought you'd take them away from me." Tom said "I'm sorry. Sydney I love you. I never loved Angie like this ok. I didn't even know I could feel like this."
