WHEN THE PAST COMES TO JUMPSTREET

CHAPTER 36: THE TOY STORE

They left. Judy said "So you girls I guess we are having a girl day huh. No boys" The girls laughed. They were singing Bruno songs in the car. They got to the mall. Madison said "mommy can we look for a new dress." Sydney said, "yes I guess so." Morgan said, "mommy I miss Tommy" Sydney said "I do too. actually, why don't we sit down a minute on the bench I think I'm gonna call daddy and check on him"

Tom's phone rang. He said, "It's mommy" Tom said, "hey baby" Sydney said, "hey sorry to bother you" Tom said "Syd you never do are you kidding me, please know I want to talk to you whenever. Are you at the mall now?" Sydney said, "yes girls want to get new dresses." Tom said "I bet they will be beautiful in whatever they pick" Sydney said "I'm sorry. I just miss Tommy. How's he doing?" Tom said "he's great. We are playing the video game. He's so good at it. I can't believe how good he is already" Tommy smiled.  Sydney said "ok. I'm sorry. I just miss him so do the girls. He said ". Do you want to talk to him" She said "I don't want to bother him unless he wants to talk to me."

Tom said, "Tommy you want to say hi to mommy" Tommy said, "yes" Tom said, "Baby here you go your son wants to talk to you" Tommy said "hi mommy" Sydney said "hi baby, are you having fun with daddy" He said "yes but this game is so hard"  Sydney said "i know baby but daddy says you're doing so good, and it will get easier the more you play I'll let you go ok"  Morgan said "mommy tell him hi for us"  Sydney said "your sisters say hi" He said to tell them hi.

Morgan said, "I'm happy for Tommy to stay home and play video games with daddy but it's not the same without him mommy." Madison said, "We miss him mommy" Sydney said "I know girls I miss him too. But let's try and still have a good time ok"

Tommy was missing Sydney. He messed up on the game.  He put controller down Tom said, "That's ok son you're doing great."  Tommy said "Daddy" Tom said "yes."  Tommy said, "can we not play any more" Tom said "yeah that's fine. You want to watch tv."  Tommy said, "I guess." Tom said, "do you like basketball" Tommy nodded.  Tom said, "I think there is a game on tv" Tommy nodded. Tom said, "Are you hungry" Tommy shook his head no.  Tom said "Son is something bothering you. Look I know you're just getting used to me and I'm getting used to being a dad, but I really want you to know that you and your sisters can come to me and talk to me, if you're upset, if I've done something""

Tommy said, "I don't want you to think I'm a baby" Tom said "Tommy I don't think that. You're not a baby ok. Although I think we should let mommy call you her baby forever."  They both laughed.  Tommy said, "I miss mommy" Tom said "I see. I'll tell you a secret" Tommy said "ok" Tom said "I miss your mommy too and your sisters"  

Tom said, "I'll tell you what, how about you go get dressed, and then we will go see your mommy at the mall, maybe we can take them to lunch" Tommy said, "can we but mommy is having a girl day" Tom said "yes but I'll tell you another secret. Your mommy is really missing you."  Tommy said, 'She is" Tom said "yes, she's already texted me again, checking on you. I think mommy and your sisters would have more fun if you were with them" Tommy said "ok let's go." He took Tom's hand.

 He helped Tommy get dressed, He said, "ok let's surprise mommy, and not tell her we are coming" Tommy said, "How will we find them" Tom said "I'll text Judy and ask her where they are." Tom texted Judy that he and Tommy wanted to surprise Sydney and the girls, and asked where they were Judy texted back, they were headed to the food court.  Madison said "mommy we are eating lunch but what about Tommy. I bet daddy doesn't know how to feed him" Sydney and Judy laughed.  Sydney said "I bet he will be able to find something. I went to the store remember" They said "oh" Sydney said, "What should we get girls" They said "I don't know. can we just sit down a minute"?

Tom got Tommy out of his car seat and carried him. He said "mommy is in the food court so let's see if we can spot her. Tell me if you see her"   Tommy said, "Daddy there they are" He pointed.  Madison said "mommy aren't you sad without Tommy" Sydney said "yes I miss your brother very much, but I want him to have fun with daddy. I know he doesn't enjoy all the clothes shopping" Morgan said "Why mommy it's fun" Judy said "boys just aren't into that. They don't know what they are missing." Morgan said, "mommy can we go to the toy store."  Sydney said, "I suppose" Madison said, "mommy we want to look at the new barbie wedding stuff" Judy said, "oh my so barbies are getting married now days, a lot has changed since I had barbies" The girls laughed.  Sydney said "it's crazy they have a whole wedding thing, dress, party stuff, even a groom.
