Sydney was a little nervous to start her new job.  She worried because she was going to be alone with the kids, not knowing anyone really, but she felt this was the best move for her.  She wanted to be able to provide for her kids and give them a better life, and this job was going to do that.  She was worried about the kids being in a new day care not knowing anyone.  All she had was her 3 babies.  They were her life, so she worried about them constantly.

Sydney made them breakfast and then got them ready and in the car.  She felt anxious.  She knew that they would be fine, but just hurt her that they were going to have to go not knowing anyone, but at least they had each other.    Sydney was trying not to cry, so as not to upset the kids.

As they got out of the car, and went to the door. Sydney stopped and knelt down.  She said "my babies I hope you have a good day today. I know it will be hard having to meet new friends."  Madison said "don't worry mommy."  The girls were holding Tommy's hand.  Sydney thought it was so sweet and cute, so she made them stop and take their picture.  Morgan said "Mommy take another picture."  They both kissed his cheeks.  She laughed.  So did the girls.  Tommy said "aw you girls"  Sydney laughed.

The teacher greeted them, and then her assistant took them to introduce them.  They all gave Sydney a hug.  Tommy said "mommy have a good day at your new job"  He kissed her cheek.  She said "thank you"  The teacher noticed Sydney was anxious and upset.  She said "if you want you are welcome to stay awhile, watch, so that you feel secure in leaving them"  Sydney said "Sorry you must think I'm over reacting, it's just I know how hard it is when you don't know anyone"   The teacher said "no it's fine. most parents react this way first day. Please come sit down."  Sydney stayed for awhile.    The teacher assistant introduced them and the other girls said hi to them and the girls said this is our brother Tommy.  Sydney laughed.  The kids were playing and making friends so Sydney left.

Sydney was a bundle of nerves she felt sick to her stomach.  She had a weird feeling but thought it was just fear of starting a new career, a new job, and everything riding on this job. Her kids future. She wished every day things were different, that the kids had Tommy.

Sydney pulled up to the address, and thought that she might have the wrong address.  She thought just great I'm lost. I put the GPS in but this can't be right.  I mean this looks like an old abandoned church. What do I do now  First day and I'm going to be late, and I'm probably going to lose my job, I don't know where I'm at.

Just then a car pulled in next to her. She decided maybe she could ask directions.  The  car door opened and a woman got out.  Sydney said "hi I'm sorry to bother you."  The other woman said "that's fine, how can I help you ma'am"  Sydney said "well I'm not from Chicago and I think I'm lost. I'm going to be in trouble, my first day of work and I'm late, and don't know where I'm at."  She said "well where are you headed."  Sydney said "Jump Street Police Department."  The woman laughed.  She said "Well I can definitely help you. Don't worry you are in the right place."

Sydney said "really so this is Jump Street. I put the address in my GPS but thought it was wrong."  She laughed.  She said "yep this is Jump Street. I'm Judy Hoffs. I gather you are our new officer."  Sydney said "yes. So nice to meet you Judy."  She held out her hand.  They shook hands.

Judy said "You have no idea how excited I was to hear we were not only getting to fill this position, because we really need this type officer, but also when I heard you were a woman. I work with all men so."  Sydney said "oh so are they all jerks"  Judy said "no they are all good guys thank God. I could not ask for 4 better men to be partners with. Just well I am not from Chicago either and with my job, I don't really have any woman friends, and the guys don't really like to go shopping or you know to the salon so."  Sydney said "Gotcha. well I love those things. And I don't have any friends at all in Chicago. Very few friends actually in my life." Judy said
"what's your name"  Sydney said "Oh Sydney"  Judy said "nice to meet you Sydney. Come in and I will introduce you."
