WHEN THE PAST COMES TO JUMPSTREET

CHAPTER 13: IT'S OVER

Sydney was afraid to go anywhere in town, but she knew she needed to eat, so she drove to the next town, and went into a little diner.  She ate a salad, and water.  She knew she had to save money.  She drove into the next town and used her atm. To get some more cash  She thought at least they will think she is in this town if her parents have gone to the police to find out where she is.

Sydney said I bet Tom is staying in one of the crappy hotels in that area where the mob enforces. Would make sense.  So I just need to drive there and try and see if I can spot Tom. She was afraid to drive in that area, so she prayed to God that he would protect her and her baby and Tom.

Tom was in the mob bosses office a family meeting was called. Tom had made progress and moved up pretty fast into the good graces of the head guy.  Tom had some help from one of the other cops in the station, by having them dress up as a bum, and having them try and rob the bosses wife.  Tom jumped in and saved her and got her purse back so Tom was immediately brought in to the fold.

The mob boss owned an Italian Restaurant so all of the business was done in the back room  There was a loud commotion in the restaurant, so he sent one of his men to see what it was.  The door opened, and the guy he had sent came back with a gun to his head, the gun was held by Damian.  Tom was shocked to see him, wasn't expecting it and worried that in Damian's grief he was going to get himself killed, mess up, blow his cover.  Tom didn't realize that Damian's cover was already blown but he would soon find out.

Damian looked at Tom but didn't say anything.  The guys all drew their guns Tom included. He knew if he didn't he would blow his own cover.  Tom was the enforcer of the group, so Tom said "I wouldn't do that if I were you."  Damian said "Shut up you son of a bitch One more word and he gets it."  

Tom was trying talk Damian down.  Tom said "I don't know who you are, but you're not too bright."  Damian said "Look I don't know you. So stay out of this"  Tom said "my job is to protect this family"  Damian said "well you might want to get a new job, cause I am going to blow every single person in this place head off."  Tom didn't know what to do, he knew that he needed get Damian out of there.

The mob boss said "you must have a death wish Damian, I guess you want to go join your family"  Tom looked at him.  Damian said "you are going to pay for what you did to my wife my babies. He  started to pull the trigger.  Tom knew he needed to act quick.  He had never seen that look in Damian's eyes. Revenge, hatred. He didn't recognize him.  He knew he needed do something or Damian was going to commit murder right in front of him. Then get himself killed maybe all of them killed. If Tom didn't defend the family, then Tom would be killed.  How could Damian put this case in jeopardy like that. Put Tom's life at risk. 

Tom got up and went and stood in front of the boss. Said "look you got a death wish if you think you are going to get out of here alive if you kill everyone."  Damian said "I don't care I have nothing to live for now."  Tom's heart broke for him.  He knew that Damian was  right. That Marie and his little girl were his life. Tom couldn't even fathom what he would do if he lost Sydney. Sydney was everything to him. The love of his life. He knew he'd be devastated if he lost her.

Tom walked closer to Damian.  Damian said "this monster, your boss, is an evil man, he needs to pay, everyone in this room, will pay, and I am going to take your wife from you you son of a bitch old man."  Tom's boss said "enough with this, you are the one to blame for Maria's death."  Tom turned and looked at him.

Damian said "I'm to blame huh. I'm to blame for you murdering her."  The boss said "yes you thought it was ok to come in here and pretend you're one of us, pretend you need a job, act like you want to be one of the family, bond with us, when you are a cop, you thought you were so smart, thought that you would be able to bring us down, no one is going to bring us down. Ever. My brother wanted to just kill you, a dead cop is reason to celebrate, but I thought no, let's really punish him, torture him, what better way than to make him lose his wife, his daughter, his unborn son. Then make him live the rest of his life with knowing it was all his fault."  Tom was horrified. He just stared at his boss then at Damian.
