WHEN THE PAST COMES TO JUMPSTREET

CHAPTER 41: VET TRIP

Tom woke up, Sydney in his arms her head on his chest.  He was stroking her hair.  He said, "You have no idea how much I love you baby" She said, "I love you, Tommy."  He said, "Sydney I'm sorry, I didn't mean to wake you."  She said, 'You didn't."  She sat up.  She said, "I'm going to go take a shower, check on the kids."  He said, 'ok."   He let out a deep breath.

Sydney said, "Hey Hanson you, ok?"  He said, "yeah I no not sure."  Sydney went back and sat down.  He took her hand.  

He said, 'Syd it's just today I'm really worried" She said, "yeah me too. Those kids absolutely love Midnight."  Tom said, "what if he has a chip? What if I can't get the owner to sell him to us"? I'm not sure I can let someone take that kitten away from those kids. It will break their heart, and I don't think I can handle seeing it."  Sydney said, "I know. Look babe, I have to believe that God sent this miracle kitten to us. And that he won't take him away from us. I mean Tom your girls were afraid to let you know they love you, but you became their hero again, and they were worried about you getting hurt."  Tom said, "I know. This kitten changed everything."

Tom said, "you know what vet you want to take him too?"  Sydney said, "no we need to look online read reviews, maybe look on facebook, see which one is best."  Tom said, "ok."  Sydney said, "I don't think it's a good idea for the kids to go with us. I think they should go to day care at least half a day today."  Tom said, "yeah I agree."

The kids were sleeping, and the kitten curled up laying in middle of them. Their hands touching the kitty.  Sydney went back to the living room.  She said, "Hey babe" He said, "yes," She said, "Come see this, bring your phone."  He did.  He took pics.  He said, "Sydney they are too precious. We just can't let someone take this kitten."  Sydney said, "I know."  She hugged him.

Sydney took a shower, then went to make breakfast.  Tom took a shower.  The kids woke up and brought the kitty out to the living room.  Taking turns holding him.  Sydney said, "good morning kids. You want to help me feed Midnight" They did.

After breakfast, the kids were all on Tom's lap watching cartoons.  Sydney was on her laptop, trying find the best vet to go to.

Tommy said, 'mommy" Sydney said, "yes baby" He said, " today you are taking Midnight to the vet to see if he has an owner."  Sydney looked at Tom.  She said, "yes honey, I'm trying find the best vet to go to."

Madison said, "mommy can we go with you."  Sydney said, "no Maddie. I think you kids should go to daycare."  Morgan said, "no mommy please."  Sydney said, 'just for half a day ok."  

Morgan said, "momma please, we don't want to go to daycare."   Sydney said, "well" Tom said, 'Sydney how about we take them to the station, Judy and the guys can watch them."  Sydney said, "ok I will call Judy and make sure it's ok. How about that, you can go and sit at daddy's desk" Madison said, 'no."  She was pouting.

Tom said, "um you can bring your babies and your toys, and" Morgan said, "We don't want to daddy."  She started pouting too.  They both can turn on the pouty faces in an instant.  Tom ran his hand through his hair.  A defeated look on his face. Sydney tried not to laugh, but she couldn't help it.  Tom looked at her.

So did the girls.  Madison said, "Tommy tell mommy you don't want to go to the station."  Sydney said, "I thought you would like to go to the station, sit at daddy's desk."  They said, "no mommy we don't want to."  Sydney tried not laugh.  She said, "you girls were asking the other day when you could go to the station."  Tom said, "you could sit at mommy's desk."  They gave him a look.  He said, 'or um" They said, "we want to go with you and daddy to the vet."  

Sydney said, "Kids."  Tommy said, "mommy please can we go with you and daddy" They all 3 said please momma.

Sydney said, 'I don't know kids. Tom what do you think" He said, "it's up to you. I'm not sure it's a good idea."
