Sydney fixed the couch for Tom, with a sheet, blanket, and pillow. Tom said, "Thanks" She said, "I'm sorry I wish I had another room; you probably rather sleep in your own bed." He said, "No I'd rather be here" He took her hand and kissed it, then brought it up and put it on his shoulder. Tom said "I am exhausted though. It's been a really long day." Sydney said, "yeah it has." Tom said, "Though I'm not complaining it was the best day" She kissed him. She said, "night Hanson." He said, "I love you baby." She said, "I love you too."
Sydney looked at the kids, sleeping so peacefully. They looked like angels when they sleep. They were spread out on the bed not sleeping close, and she didn't want to wake them. She put her silk pajamas on and then went out to living room. She couldn't tell if Tom was awake and didn't want to wake him if he wasn't. He was lying on his side.
She got in the recliner. Tom said "hey." She said, "I'm sorry, I hope I didn't wake you." He said, "no I just had my eyes closed. So how come you are far away from me." She laughed. She said, "Cause I thought you might be sleeping" He said, "I see, so you think if you would come get on the couch by me that would be bothering me" he grinned. She laughed.
She said, "Your kids look like angels when they sleep" He said, "well I think they look like angels even when they are awake." She laughed. So did he. She said, "But they are not sleeping close, all spread out, there's no room for me without moving them, and I don't want to wake them" Tom said, "well this couch is pretty big, and I'd love to hold you." She smiled. She went and got on the couch in Tom's arms. Tom got them covered up in the blanket. Tom had one arm around her waist, and the other he was stroking her hair. Tom said, "Syd I'll let you sleep, I just wanted tell you, man I have missed this." She said, "missed what?" He said, "holding you in my arms, watching you sleep, listening to your heartbeat." She cried. Tom said, "Baby I'm sorry." She said, "I've missed it so much too. I love you so much Tommy." He said, "I love you. So we should probably go to sleep huh. Kids will be loads of energy tomorrow, right?" Sydney said, "yes. everyday Hanson"
In morning it was storming. Heavy rain, thunder. Tom got up; Sydney was still asleep. Tom was sitting watching her sleep. Madison and Morgan came running out saying mommy, mommy, mommy. Tom said, "Girl's mommy is still sleeping, can I help you." They looked at Tom. They said, "no we need mommy." They looked all upset, like something was really wrong. Tom said, "maybe I could help." They said, "no only mommy can." Sydney said, "Girls what's wrong." They ran to Sydney. They looked adorable, but worried. Madison said, "Mommy my wedding barbie, and all my stuff." Sydney said, "Sweetie it's right there and your daddy finished yours Morgan." Morgan said, "yes, but mommy." She was almost in tears. Sydney said, "Girls don't worry ok, I know which one is which." They both said, "you do." Sydney said, "yes I put Morgan's on the other side of the coffee table. Madison's is closer to the couch." They hugged her. She said, "Is your brother awake?" They said, "no." Tommy said, "yes I am mommy" He went and gave Sydney a hug.
Sydney said, "So is anyone hungry for chocolate chip pancakes." The kids screamed "yes mommy" Tom said, "Syd I'm going to go take a shower." She said, "ok" There was a loud roar of thunder, and then lightening. The girls screamed. Tom said, "That was loud huh." They looked at him, then were following Sydney into the kitchen. Tommy said, "Daddy" Tom said, "yes son." Tom patted Tommy on his back. Tom said, "it was really loud." Tom said, "yes." Tommy said, "The girls are scared of lightning." Madison said, "we are not Tommy. That's not nice." Sydney said, "Girls you don't like hearing loud thunder and lightning, just like I don't."
Sydney said, "you want to turn on your cartoons, and watch and play with your barbies." They nodded. Sydney said, "Daddy worked hard getting it all finished, what do you girls tell him." Madison and Morgan looked at Tom. They said, 'Thank you." He said, "your very welcome girls. I hope you have fun." Sydney got their cartoons on and went into the kitchen.
