Chapter 15

When it becomes dark again I don't see any figure. "Eclipse what's wrong? Who are you talking to?" "Nothing. No one, I mean. I just- need to get back home." I'm shaking now and we gallop on to the cave. I collapse almost instantly when safely inside. "Are you ok?" Lily asks. "Yeah... I'm... Fine..." I say between breaths. Suddenly without warning I pass out.

Images flash across my vision. Like a slideshow in fast-forward. All the pictures were of stuff I hadn't seen before. They looked like stuff that was going on in real life. Of Rusty, Strawberry, and some other horse he didn't recognize. Of the herd running in a big group. He didn't see Sunrise or Cheyenne in the group though and he wondered what happened to them. But what worried him most of all was seeing a flood. But this was in an area he recognized. This area was only about a half mile from the cave.

When I wake up the first thing I see is Wild Heart. I slowly get up but then I remember the "vision". "Guys we have to get out of here now!" "What why?" Free Spirit asks. "There's a flood not far from here. And our cave goes down hill so we will be swept away to drown in here. We need high ground." "Wait how do you know this." "I saw a vision." Everyone is silent.

"We've already had enough water and drowning for a lifetime!" One of the horses says. "Come on you have to believe me!" Everyone is still. Black Star walks up to me. "I believe you." Wild Heart walks up too. "Please. What's the worst that could happen?" I say. A few more horses come to my side and soon when they realize only four are on their side they come to my side. "We have to hurry we spent to much time debating whether we should go or not," I say.

Suddenly I hear a huge wave behind me. I turn around and see the water just yards away. We run to the left away from the ocean and head toward the closest hill. We don't say anything but I can tell they are all thinking the same thing. 'I'm so glad I decided to go with Eclipse'

When we get to the hill we can see all of the water head toward the cave. We all would have died. We sand there in silence thinking of what to do now that we have no house. "Where can we head that would be safe?" I ask Free Spirit. Even if I have been her for more than half a year he still knows more around here than I do.

"Um since we probably shouldn't stay in another cave, we should stay here." I turn to look at him. "Ok." We try to go back to sleep and when I hear all of them relax and fall asleep, I walk away. I need to figure something out.

When I know no one can see me I try to shift. I can feel something flicker inside me. As if a light was almost dead but trying to turn on one last time. Then, it does. I look down. I'm a human! I jump back in surprise. I don't like being a human so I shift to a horse again. I stand there stunned that I was able to be a human. Wait, do I have my powers? I turn to a tree and throw magic at it. It comes out as a shimmering ball of something and hits the tree. It burns a hole into it and disappears. I pause, thinking of what I should do with this information. I now know that I will be able to find my family again. I almost jump up and down in happiness. My family! But first, I must tell my herd.

Unknown POV

Your mate shifted. I wake up with a start and my eyes fly open. My mate shifted? I look around at my herd. He isn't here. I can see his energy in a trail. This is how I track people. I don't look for footsteps or signs like a kicked over rock. I follow the trail their energy makes. It glows a soft amber color. When I get to him he is standing there. "Hey," I say. He jumps. He didn't know I was coming. "Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you."

Rusty's POV

When we were safe from the herd we stood in our hiding spot quietly. We can't be found. Suddenly the blob comes out again. Oh no! I'm within the range where my magic flies away. I jump after t and am greeted by the herd. I try to ignore them but when someone is trying to kill you, it's hard to ignore. I chase after the magic and am half trampled by the herd. They stop me from getting up and I keep fighting. "Bring Eclipse back!" I hear Dakota yell. "I can't. My magic just left." "What do you mean?" She asks panicky.

"That blob that I was chasing is my magic!" "Charm go get it!" Dakota yells. I can see the buckskin go after it but I can tell it went too far away. It's gone, I'm dead, and Eclipse will stay on some now uninhabited island somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean forever.

I relax, now accepting my fate. I'm going to die. Maybe it's what I deserve but I'm glad at least I know what happened to Strawberry. Charm runs back and yells, "It's gone!" I roll my eyes. "Now Eclipse is gonna be on that island forever. If you hadn't stopped me from getting my magic he might've had a chance of coming back." "Don't even try that crap with me," Dakota says. "He might be on an island but at least he is alive. If you still had the magic you would've killed him." "No, I don't even care if he is alive or dead. I just wanted my magic back and the only reason I do all of this is because YOU killed my mom and dad."

"No we didn't," Magic mutters loud enough for all of us to hear. "What," I spit out, "of course you did-" "No we didn't," he says louder looking at me. "Max wasn't your father. I am," he says. "No, Max-" "Just- listen to me. Your mom didn't have anyone to mate with her so I mated with her." I stare at him in disbelief. "So Sunrise and Eclipse- are my... half siblings?" "Yes."

"We should get back to the cave," Magic says. As we walk with me in the middle and the others completely surrounding me, I can't help but think of what he was talking about. Why. Why?

1145 words. Hope you liked this chapter. Next two chapters will be good. This book will be shorter than I hoped but maybe it is better to have a short book that is more exciting than a long, more boring book. I'm in the car right now so this won't be published until tomorrow.

Ok so all of this was supposed to come out on Sunday but it deleted half of it and I hate rewriting stuff but I knew I had to do it sometime so I did it today. Luckily I had this chapter screenshotted so I wrote it all on a piece of paper and copied it down on wattpad it took like two or three hours. Well sorry about this. I'm not sure when next chapter will be out. Hopefully soon but I haven't completely decided everything happening next chapter. Bye for now my dear readers :)
