Chapter Six

After a shower I tied my hair up into a high pony tail, making a mental note to dye it again this week. I pulled on a pair of leather high waisted leggings and a black crop top. A strappy pair of heels later and I was ready to go.

As I walked towards the bar I saw Natasha stood behind it, a fruity cocktail sat in front of her. Her red hair was curled, paired along with the knee length white dress she looked like someone fresh out of the forties. There was only one reason she'd dress like that. I smirked knowingly as I walked up to her.

"Got one of them for me Tasha?" I asked using her nickname that I knew she secretly loved. She glared up through her eyelashes at me.

"Oh the Mom look? What did I do?" I sat down as I took the drink from her. She took a sip of her own as she looked at me.

"You ran into a burning building."

Of course Steve had told her.

"To save people, it's kind of what we do." I rolled my eyes, if everyone could stop seeing me as Clint's kid sister that would be great. He wasn't even that much older than me. I took another sip of my drink, smiling as the sweetness flooded over my tastebuds.

"Why didn't you wait for Steve?" She queried, her protective side coming to the surface.

I was started to get agitated, I could've told her the truth, that there wasn't time. Instead I put my walls up, giving off the I don't give a fuck attitude that I'd mastered so well.

"I work better alone. You know that." Of course Nat saw through it, she always did.

"You wouldn't of done that to Bucky." She smirked over the rim of her drink at me as I let out a small laugh.

"He's my best friend. I actually like him, besides he would've understood I was doing my job." I countered, she couldn't dispute what I was saying. Bucky would've had my back, I knew that. I could trust him, I didn't trust Steve and that's where the problem lied. Sending people who don't trust each other on missions together was never going to end well.

She rolled her eyes, refilling my drink for me. "So nothing to do with you wanting Steve?"

I nearly spat my drink all over her, caught off guard at her question. "You think I want Vanilla? Hell no!" Even I could hear how defensive I sounded but I brushed it off, there was no way me and him could work. Not to mention he couldn't stand being in a room for more than five minutes with me. Her demeanour changed as she became genuinely curious.

"You've hated him since day one, why?" I thought about her answer. It all came back to the same problem, he had everything without even trying. I'd fought my whole life to get where I am now. I was still fighting every day, being a woman in a mans world was hard.

I wanted to tell her the truth, confide in her like I used to. Before I could do exactly that, knowing she'd understand; Bucky appeared beside me with a beer in his hand.

"Because she likes winding him up." He answered for me, making me jump slightly.

"Okay one," I glared at him, "that's not true. Two where the hell did you come from?"

"I wanted to come see my girls," he gave Nat a smirk. They'd been seeing each other for a while but not everyone knew about it. I couldn't help but smile at both of them, they really were sweet together and I was beyond happy for them.

"Your girls?" Nat flirted back, her eyes hooding over with lust as she looked at Bucky.

"On that note I'm leaving," I laughed as I finished my drink and placed the empty glass on the bar. I didn't get far before Tony linked his arm through mine.

"With me, come on." He dragged me over to what was essentially a dance floor. It wasn't unusual for people to be littered around as soft music filtered through the speakers.

"Thank you," I smiled as he started swaying us to the music.

Dancing with Tony was always fun, he knew how to dance and his hands never wandered to where they shouldn't.

"You did well today. Them kids wouldn't of made it without you." I smiled, knowing he'd read my mission report. Even if he hadn't I knew he'd be in my corner, he always was. As we spun around I could see Steve eyeing me from where he was standing in the corner with Sam.

"Feel free to tell that to Capsicle," I motioned to where he was stood with my head. Tony looked over my shoulder briefly as we moved.

"He'll come around. You do need to find a way to work with him though." He raised his eyebrow knowing how stubborn I can be. I let out a small laugh, he wasn't wrong and deep down I knew that. It didn't make the idea any easier.

"I know. I'll figure it out, I promise." It wasn't a lie, I knew I had to find a way to work with him. My job would depend on it, I'd fought too hard to let one person take it away from me.

Tony could tell I was scanning the room seeing who was around tonight. He changed the subject, knowing he wouldn't have my attention much longer.

"Got some new arrows for you to try. Come by the lab tomorrow?" I gave him a nod, smiling when I saw my favourite God smiling at me from the corner of the room.

"Sounds good", I gave him a tap on the shoulder. "Now as much as I'm enjoying this. You're not sleeping with me tonight, I do however know someone that will." I sent Loki a little wink over Tony's shoulder. Tony quickly realised where I was looking and let out a small laugh.

"This is why you're my favourite Barton." I gave him a kiss on the cheek before walking over to Loki, who met me half way.

He pulled me into his firm chest as he smiled down at me. "If it isn't my favourite mortal." I could feel his firm muscles under my hands, his leather armour replaced by an all black suit.

"If it isn't my favourite mischief maker." He gave me a smirk as his magic fluttered over me, the feeling going straight to my core.

"Like I said, mischief." We danced for a little while, his hand sliding from the small of my back to my ass. He gave it a small squeeze as he pulled me closer.

"You could at least try to keep your hand off my ass." I teased, both of us knowing I had no problem with it whatsoever.

"Yeah but it's fun to watch the Captain turn that shade of red when I do." He leaned down to whisper in my ear, "not to mention the way your breath catches in your throat when I do this." He grabbed my ass again pulling me flush against him, his semi hard cock pushing into my stomach. I trailed my nose up his neck, giving his ear lobe a small nip with my teeth.

"You're my favourite kind of trouble Laufeyson." His breath caught in his throat as I got more brazen; he loved seeing the confident side to me. He always had. My hand slid from his shoulder into his hair, giving it a slight tug at the root. He moaned quietly before looking down at me.

"Want to get out of here?"

"I thought you'd never ask." He tugged on my hand as we weaved through the few bodies that were between us and the exit. Walking out into the hallway he looked back at me with a knowing smile. Before we reached the elevator, there was a tug on my other wrist. Before I could react I was being pushed against the wall in an empty meeting room.

A very pissed of Steve caged me against the wall. His nostrils flaring as he looked down at me.
