Dustin's POV

The lights filter through the curtains as I lay in bed with Daisy wrapped around me like a little monkey. I love these mornings when we can just lay here wrapped in each other's arms. I lay quietly as I listened to her soft breathing and smile as I thought about last night and her saying yes. She is my whole world and now she will be mine forever. I had been laying just watching her sleep when she began to squirm and she stretches as she lets out a squeak.

"Good morning my fiance, did you sleep well?" she asked.

"Yes, I slept like a rock. How did you sleep?"

"Like a baby. You wore me out."

"This is my favorite time of day, when I can have you in my arms and cuddle with you. When I can just shut out the world and it's just you and me."

"I love this too. My time when I don't have to share you with anyone."

We enjoyed our quiet time together as we woke up. My phone soon begins to ring. We try to ignore it and it keeps ringing. I let out a growl as I rolled over and picked it up.

"Hold on, man. What are you saying? Calm down. Slow your words."

I feel Daisy sit up quickly and place a hand on my shoulder.

"Okay, we got you, man. We will be there as soon as we can."
I quickly hang up and jump out of bed.

"What's wrong?"

"It's Amber, apparently she woke up earlier this morning screaming in pain. He pulled back the comforter and saw blood soaking the bed. He is freaking out and wants us to come to the hospital."
"Oh my god, poor Amber! We have to hurry!"

We both get out of bed and hurry to get ready and head out to the hospital. I quickly park the car and we both run inside. Inquiring at the desk, they tell us where Elijah is and that Amber is in surgery. We quickly go to Elijah and he is sitting in the waiting room with his head in his hands and I can see his shoulders shaking with grief. We head over to him and Daisy kneels down and puts a hand on his knee. He immediately flings his arms around her and pulls her to him as they stand up. He begins to sob and all Daisy can do is hold him and rub his back trying to comfort him. I stand back and watch as the big man looks so small at this moment. After a few moments he stands up and looks over to me, with red puffy eyes.

"Sorry, I stole your woman for a bit."

"No worries, man. You needed her at the moment. I understand."

"So what happened?"

"I don't know. I was woken up by her screams and when she pulled the blankets down, I saw a lot of blood. I freaked out. I rushed her here and they took her back. They wouldn't let me go back with her. Eventually the nurse came back and said that her placenta detached from her uterus and they would have to do an emergency c-section. It's too early! What are we going to do? I could lose both of them."

"Elijah, she is a strong woman. She'll get through this. Your baby will be fine." Daisy says as she tries to console him.

"How do you know that? You didn't see all the blood."

"I don't know, but you have to have faith. The doctor's know what they are doing."

"I can't lose her, Daisy. I just can't."

"She will be okay."

He slumps down in the chair and runs his hands through his hair. I see a broken man sitting in front of us. It breaks my heart to see him like this. I don't know what I would do if Daisy and I were in this position. My stomach tied in knots just thinking about it. I begin to think about having children with Daisy. Would she want that? I never thought I would want that until now. It scares the hell out of me wanting to be a father. I need to talk to her later. If she doesn't, I will be okay. As long as I have her, my life will be filled. If she wants children, I would be over the moon. First thing we need to do is get married. We sit with him for what seems like hours when the doctor finally comes out looking exhausted.
