Chapter 29

I woke up, in bed. Which was weird for me, considering I fell asleep on the floor. I looked down and Alfie was asleep on the floor exactly where I fell asleep. I looked over at the clock and it read 11am. We didn't actually sleep for that long, just earlier we landed in an airport. It felt like yesterday but oh well.

Today we were all just going to unpack and rest in our rooms until we decided to go and grab some dinner.

I tiptoed to the wardrobe and unpacked my clothes into my half of the wardrobe, i put the rest of my stuff in the draw next to my bed, well our bed... I was finished pretty much. It took about ten minutes. Slowly, I creeped to the bed and sat down, waiting for Alfie's to wake up. I rolled over onto Alfie's side of the bed even though he was on the floor. Idiot.

As creepy as it sounds, I watched him sleep. The way he sighs when he rolls over. Or the way he randomly smiles in his sleep. It's really cute I tell you. He started laughing which made me laugh. I rolled over and landed on him, because, well, why not?

"No I don't wanna wake up yet." Alfie moaned in his tired voice.

"Well why don't you get into the comfy bed it turns out that it doesn't separate into single beds but oh well..." I said trying not to sound too happy even though I was.

"Oh what a shame." He laughed.

"Well aren't you going to get in?" I said as I got up from bundling him.

"Well I don't think I will go back to sleep but we could watch tv?" He said as he joined in in our bed. Our. Bed.

We both got under the covers and pretty snuggles up together. Honestly, we act like a couple. I rested on his shoulder and we flicked through the foreign programs. The only thing that was english was the news. On the tv there was a familiar place at I knew very well.

"Umm Natalie... Isn't that your house?" Alfie said, eyes glued to the tv.

"Oh my god that's my house ooo what's going on." I squealed.

"The local house was burnt down after the gas fuse exploded." The tv reporter said out.

They showed footage of my house burning.

"They have not yet found the people who were living in this house but our team are still searching." As I heard this I was shocked. I didn't know what to say.

"M-my mum and dad were in there Alfie. Alfie what is going on. Alfie." I cried into his shoulder.

"Oh my god Natalie." He was practically speechless.

"No what if they're gone. I won't see them. Alfie what's going to happen?" I cried more i to his shoulder.

"Natalie i- I don't know what to say..." He really didn't know what to say.

"Just hold me please." I said, as all I wanted was a hug.

Alfie hugged me as tight as possible. My tears were all over his shirt. Wait. My phone. If I know my mum she will let me know what's going on. I pulled away really fast, which left Alfie confused. I grabbed my phone and switched it on. I had one message from my mum. As fast as possible i opened it and it read:

Natalie I'm not going to lie to you. I'm not okay I'm in hospital with your father, being treated for burns. They still think people are in the house. Don't worry about me okay, enjoy yourself I will be fine but one thing. It burnt some of my hair off I'm almost bald, what if people stare at me. Don't text me until tomorrow, phones being taken so I can rest and gets tests done.

I sighed really loud and tears of relief came out of my eyes.

"I'm sorry Natalie I really don't know what to say." He put his arm around me.

"Alfie they're okay. Well not okay. But they're alive. And I'm Thankful." I sighed in relief.

"Oh my god Natalie that's fantastic!" He looked tense until I told him the good news.

*ding ding*

That was the noise my phone a,de when I got a group chat text from the weird lot.

Mason: omfg Natalie are you okay omg.
Megan:Natalie I am so sorry.
Me:guys they're okay I got a text they're okay. I literally cried so much I don't know why I'm still crying but omg.
Alfie: Stop crying beautiful. <3
Ellie: THAT WAS SO CUTE.
Freddie:NALFIE
Megan: NALFIE.
Me: aww <3
Alfie: Natalie look next to you.

I put my phone down and looked next to me, which is where Alfie was. He wiped away my tears with his shirt and kissed me. It took me by surprise. Butterflies in my stomach were fluttering everywhere. All the memories and thoughts of Alfie went through my head. He brushed away my hair that was stuck to my face, and I smiled. We pulled away and looked into each others eyes.

Our phones were vibrating like crazy.

Megan: what was next to you?!
Freddie: Natalie??
Mason:Alfie ?
Megan: you guys?!
Me: oh hey you guys.
Megan: what just happened.
Alfie: oh there was loads of butterflies in our room.
Me: was there.
Me: oh wait ;)
