Chapter 30

Alfie is so sweet. He makes me feel better when I'm down, this literally feels like a fairytale.

Now, we're both ready to go out and meet our friends, we were all planning to goto the pool. I was wearing my sea blue bikini with a turquoise over dress. Alfie was wearing blue swim trunks and no shirt, I tried not to stare for too long. He is so perfect I don't get how he is interested in someone like me. I wonder when it will be official.

Alfie's P.O.V

I looked at her, sitting there, twirling her soft, silky hair. She is so perfect, how can she be interested in someone like me? I was finally ready now. We both made our way down to the pool, carrying huge noodle floats, which were taller than her. I laughed.

"Why are you laughing, you're scaring me." She giggled.

"That noodle float is taller than you." I laughed more and she pouted like a little kid.

"Yeah and it's stronger than you." I turned my head in confusion.

"Huh?" I questioned.

She whacked me around the back with the noodle float and I fell down the remaining three stairs hitting my head at the bottom. It didn't hurt as much as I thought it would, if I'm honest.

"Oh my god I'm so sorry." I saw her face instantly turn to a shocked face.

"No it's fine, the noodle float is stronger than me." I laughed and picked myself up.

"No I'm really sorry." She ran to me and hugged me, her head just reaching below my chin.

"It's okay honestly, you go see the others while I go and rent two sun loungers." I said as I approached the reception desk.

The man at the reception desk handed me a letter, and as soon as I asked who it was from, he told me the person who delivered it had no name. Oooo, it could be a surprise. I went to the sofa in the lounge room in the reception and took a seat. I ripped open the envelope and my jaw dropped. It was from an anonymous person, I read on:

Dear Alfie,
Wanna play a game? I know who you are and what you love so you have to complete these daily tasks I give you, fail to complete one and someone gets hurt, somebody you love...

Don't tell anyone about receiving this letter or there will be consequences.

The first task is not show up to the pool today and don't get in, easy right? That means don't get pushed in either. Don't worry boy, the tasks get harder.

My heartbeat became faster and faster. I didn't know what to do. What if I failed, he might hurt Natalie. I've got to abide by his rules now, he's got me under his control. I sighed and my mood dropped deeply.

I dragged my feet out to the pool with two sun loungers for me and Natalie and instantly laid on one. I sighed again. I can't stop thinking about that note.

Natalie ran over to me and her mouth was in the shape of an 'o'. I turned my head like a confused puppy.

"You're shoulder... That was my fault?" I could tell she felt really bad.

"It doesn't hurt honestly, go have fun." I looked and my shoulder and it really wasn't bad.

"Come in the pool with me." She smiled.

"Can't." I shook my head and sighed.

"Why?" She was just as confused as me now.

"I can't, just don't worry about it." I sighed, and she left me alone.

Throughout the day I kept seeing her glance at me and sigh. I felt really bad.

By the time it was five o'clock everybody got out the pool one by one and dried off. Then we all decided to go back to our rooms and get changed to go out for a meal all six of us.

At the room...

I didn't need to shower or anything as I didn't get in the pool so I was already ready. I only changed into jeans and a black comfortable shirt. Natalie was in the shower now and I was left alone with my thoughts. What if the tasks became so hard. Or dangerous. A note flew into the window and poked me in the side of my head. I unfolded it. Great. Another letter from that creep:

You've completed the first task, now you can enjoy that dinner. Next task will start tomorrow.

I screwed up the letter and threw it in the bin. Like a caterpillar, I wrapped my self in the blanket which smelled on Natalie and had my face down on a pillow. I let out a huge sigh, must've been the fifth one today.

About twenty minutes later, Natalie and the others were ready, we already decided that we were going to a barbecue themed restaurant.

I was the driver, just like always. Natalie was in the front seat next to me, then Freddie and Mason were in the middle row and Ellie and Megan were at the back. Even though I tried to ignore it I could hear the others whispering about my dead expression, my mood and how I was acting weird.

We arrived at the barbecue house and we all walked in. Luckily for us, we already reserved a table so we all sat down and ordered a selection of ribs burgers and hot dogs. The creepy happenings today made my appetite disappear almost completely but I still ate. Everyone was talking and having fun while I was picking on my food. Then i thought to myself, I don't actually want them to get to suspicious so il act like I'm fine.

"So guysssssssssssssss what shall we doooooo tomorrow" I lightened my tone of voice.

"We should all sleep in until when we want then decide because we're all tired." Freddie said and everyone agreed.

I guess that's a good idea because I couldn't wreck anything then. All of the food was gone now and I drove us back to the hotel, all of us stuffed. Hopefully, lightning up my mood for the remainder of that evening could prevent Natalie from asking questions. Everybody went their separate ways and into their rooms. I took of my top and climbed into bed, despite the time being 10pm and as soon as Natalie climbed into bed, I pretended I was asleep, I don't want to drag her into this.
