Chapter 7

"Okay, the first activity is a scavenger hunt. There will be three items to find and all of them can be found and its not impossible. But its not that easy, it wont tell you the direct items it will give you riddles that you need to solve. Go back to your tents and change into some trainers if you aren't wearing them already." Mrs Farley announced.
"I think we should split up into pairs and share out the objects." I whispered, so the other teams wont catch on our tactics.
"Good plan. Just go with your tent buddies." Megan said, discreetly winking at me.
"Good idea." Freddie agreed.
"Okay teams here is your list of riddles. The first team to find all of their items wins. Get ready. Set. Go!" Mrs Farley shouted.
"Natalie and Alfie, you go and find riddle 1, me and Ellie will find riddle 2 and mason and Freddie you can find riddle 3." Megan said, everyone agreeing with her.
"All meet back here when you have found your item." I said, pointing to the ground.

We all set off to find our objects. I read aloud mine and Alfie's riddle.

"I will be found where loads of trees go i might be up high or i might be down low."
"The forest." Alfie whispered.
"Lets go." I said as we sprinted to the forest.

Wait how are we going to know which tree its on? Oh no. We walked around the forest, discussing where and what it could be. Agreeing on one thing, it was going to be up the tree. The forest is so pretty, nit like all the other forest with sticks everywhere but it was a beautiful forest. The leaves were a light green colour which made each and everyone one of them stand out.

"Can you climb trees?" I asked Alfie.
"No..." He replied slowly.
"Neither can i..." I stated.
"Hmm il try though." Alfie said, ruffling his hair.
"Alfie.. I have a slight feeling I've found the tree were looking for..." I said, laughing.
"How so?" He questioned.
"Theres a little illuminous pink ball and i don't think that would be there by an accident." I said as we walked over to the tree.

Alfie tied his shoes extra tight, and put his foot on a little branch. He slowly proceeded his way up the tree putting an equal force in each step. I can't believe we might actually win something.

"Keep going your almost there!" I shouted up to Alfie.
"You don't say!" He used sarcasm against me. Really? Oh well.
"Nice sarcasm!" I shouted with more sarcasm.
"I almost got it i just need to stre-!" He said. As he was stretching, he fell.

Oh no! I reached out my arms to catch him. Oh God what do i do? I closed my eyes and held out my arms still. I felt a body crash against mine, and we fell to the ground. He caught himself and it looked as if he was about to do some pushups, except i was below him. My eyes locked in his gaze. It was as if someone has opened a cage of millions of butterflies and left them to float in my stomach. I wonder what he was thinking. As much as i wanted to kiss him, i knew that i can't, I'm too scared. I flicked my eyes from his lips to his eyes. Five minutes must have past before Alfie got up and offered me his hand to help me up. I had all leaves in my hair and they were all tangled.

We then grabbed a thick stick and used it to throw at the ball to get it down. Our plan worked as we picked up the ball.

"Do you err think we should get back to the meeting point?" Alfie asked, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Let's go" i took his hand and tried to get his to skip with me. He wouldn't budge.
"I am not skipping Natalie" He chuckled.
"Come on pleaseeeeeee" I begged.
"Nope" He said.
"Your boring!" I stuck my tongue out then laughed.

We slowly made our way through the forest and back to the meeting point. As we were the first ones there, we sat down and rested. Soon after, the other lot arrived and we all put our items infront of us.

"A pink ball seriously?" Megan said, bursting out with laughter.
"A dodge ball, what why are all of our objects a type of ball?" Mason had a point.
"Now we have a pink ball, a dodge ball, and a tennis ball." I said.
"What do you have to do to achieve your items?" Freddie asked.
"Well we had to climb a tree..." Alfie said smiling at me.
"We had to dig a hole on the 'x' lucky that we found it!" Megan said, showing us her dirty hands,
"Well, we had to jump on logs to reach the other side of a shallow river. The river absolutely stunk though. Trust me if much rather have yours." Freddie said, scrunching up his face.

We all ran to the place where we first got told about the activity and handed in our items. The results of which team one would be given to us later. From earlier, I've been trying to get the leaves out of my hair. They won't come out and I can't reach the back. Oh well, il just say it's a new look if they ask, it will crack em up. It was almost dinner time so we would be allowed 2 hours for all of us to get changed and rest. Dinner time isn't what you think it is, it's the fact we have to cook it around our fire and we would have to follow instructions. I requested to change first out of me and Alfie so I ran into our tent and threw on my first set of clothes. Using my pocket sized mirror, I applied a little mascara then I grabbed my brush and walked out of the tent, so I could brush my hair. It was hard to get the brush through my hair because there were way to many leave in my hair. Ugh, I couldn't pick them out! I carried on attempting to get the brush through my hair. When the others are changed the dinner should be funny, knowing that hardly any of us can cook.
