Mother huh? I suppose I can go with that. I mean, she's currently washing me off and unlike Eugen or Roon she doesn't seem to be considering anything else while doing it. If that's not motherly I don't know what is. Though isn't a bit early for that kind of thing?
Hmmm...
Oh well. Not like I have anything better going on for me at the moment and having a mother, even if it's just for roleplaying purposes can't be all that bad. At the very least it'll mean I have someone else to look out for me besides the three-
Me: Well, it's about the others.
FDG: Others?
Me: Well...
I tell her about my experiences since I woke up and much to my amazement, she listens without interrupting me. Having been around the other girls for so long I'd forgotten what it felt like to feel as though my voice is truly being heard. As I finish up and still don't hear anything from her, however, I turn to face her worried that something's wrong. What greets me sends shivers down my spine.
I'm not sure when she left the water or even got dressed but by the time I turn to face her she's fuming. I don't even get the time to ask what's wrong before she excuses herself. It admittedly takes some time for my brain to catch on but when it finally does I hightail it out of the bathroom giving chase. When I reach the door and cold air hits my body, however, it finally dawns on me that I am naked.
Slamming the door, I almost collapse from fright but quickly regain enough of my composure so as to proceed straight to my clothing. There I find a clean suit awaiting me with my name on it and instructions saying I should wear it instead of putting on my now very dirty clothing. Given no one else was here with us, it's clear she's the one that left this here but I can't even imagine how she found time to do so given how fast she left and the fact that she was with me washing my hair and body the entire time.
Slipping into the clothing proves easier than I expected and I must admit, they are extremely comfortable. They're only slightly different from what I was wearing but even with the slight alteration, they somehow fit me perfectly. As I stand there admiring my own reflection, however...
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM
The explosion is so deafening that for a few seconds following the initial boom I can't hear anything but ringing in my ears. My vision blurs and I momentarily lose my ability to properly balance myself as my body tries to recover. By the time I do, the sounds of many smaller explosions and various screams reach my ear. Thinking we're under attack again but not wanting to get buried beneath rubble once more, I dash out of the building only to find a furious Friedrich blasting holes in every nearby building as Roon, Agir and Eugen all scramble to get out of her next firing line. The scene is so comical that at first, all I manage is muffled laughter.
Roon is the first to see me and immediately begins heading my way. The minute she covers half the distance, however, Friedrich seemingly materialises between us and releases a full barrage straight at Roon who, with no other option, dives for the ground as the shells blast overhead.
Taking the opportunity to properly look around, I quickly take note of just how much collateral damage they're causing. So far, none of the other girls have attempted to stop her from blasting holes into every building but I can't say whether that is due to being afraid of her or because they think it is far more profitable to stand by and watch rather than attempt to intervene. In fact, one girl, in particular, looks eager to clear the scene while she's preoccupied.
Realising I'm the only one that can do anything about the situation, I call out to her using her name but she either doesn't hear me or chooses to ignore as she continues firing without so much as an acknowledgement that she heard me. I try a few more times with similar results proving that this method is futile. In her rage, it's as though nothing is getting through to her. Then, like a divine revelation, the answer comes to me and I suddenly know what I have to do.
Me: MOTHER!
The world falls silent. Even the very dust being blown around by the constant fighting vanishes in the blink of an eye. It's as though the very essence of the universe is intensely focused on me. All eyes are looking in my direction but my newfound mother is the first to actually react to my shout.
FDG: Hmmm?
Acting as though she doesn't know why I even called out to her, she puts on the most innocent smile she can muster in the moment, even as her guns reposition themselves so that they can keep pointing at their targets as she turns to face me.
Me: Please stop attacking them.
FDG: Whatever do you mean?
Roon: Wait, you're being serious about this ha-
FDG: You fi-
Me: Mom!
FDG: Yes dear?
Sighing, I don't even bother trying to continue the conversation. Instead, I simply walk over and grab ahold of her hand. As I start pulling her away from the scene, she doesn't try to protest or even offer resistance. In fact, she draws even closer to me and soon after dismisses her rig. It's surprising but I think I'm starting to understand how she operates. Still though, how did I end up in this mess?
