I awaken to the sound of a feminine voice calling my name. Too weak to make move towards the sound, I try making sounds to no avail. My body is certainly in no state to establish contact right about now. I can't even move my head to look at the rest of my body. Then there is the pain, oh the pain. If only death wasn't so elusive!

What am I saying? Of course, I don't want to die. What a stupid thing to even consider. There's nothing for me if I die. I have yet to experience so many things...I definitely cannot die here and yet it doesn't seem like my body is capable of doing anything but die slowly in this cave.

As I continue listening to the voice, it doesn't take long to realise that it is getting closer and closer. Still, it's not until the voice sounds as though it is directly opposite of me that it first occurs to me that I am fairly naked. Apart from the lower half of my underwear, I have nothing covering my skin.

The realization comes shortly before the sounds of rocks being moved reaches my ear. As they do, terror courses through my veins at the thought of being found like this but there's nothing I can do. Even if I could more, my clothes are on the other side of the cave-in and have likely already been found by whoever's coming to rescue me. That doesn't stop me from trying but as I exert myself my vision slowly fades to black until all fade away.

I awaken sometime later to the sound of singing. Someone's combing their fingers through my hair as they sing what sounds like a lullaby. Opening my eyes, I find myself resting my head in someone's lap. They haven't noticed that I'm awake as yet but I can't see who it is either due to their bust blocking my view.

Nearby, a door opens and someone comes in. Hearing the sound of the door confirms that I'm no longer in the cave and, despite not knowing where I am, I find myself relaxing at the mere thought that someone rescued me. It's such a blissful feeling that I forget I'm not alone and almost completely give in to my emotions but before I can, the newcomer speaks.

Roon: How is she?

????: There is no cause for concern child. She'll recover in time.

Roon...wait, child? Does Roon have a mother? Wait...can ships even have mothers? Ughhh. Just thinking about it makes my head hurt. I can think about all that later, what does she mean I'll recover though? Am I hurt or something?

????: Now go and get some rest.

Roon: I-

????: Go!

There's an audible sigh followed soon after by the audible sound of a door opening and closing. A few seconds of silence go by during which I try repositioning myself but even as I do, my vision begins fading to black once more. Still, I do manage to get a view of the person who's taking care of me as she shifts to look down at me.

????: Oh, you're awake?

Splash...Splash...Splash

Bolting up, I immediately begin searching for the water thinking I'm still in the cave and about to drown but much to my surprise, I'm in a bed. I'm also clothed. Breathing a sigh of relief, I take the opportunity to glance around the room. It's clear that this isn't my room as the aesthetic is drastically different and yet I'm most definitely still in Iron-Blood.

Standing, I make my way over to one of the dressers where I find a picture with some faces I've not seen before. One, in particular, catches my eye. I feel like I've seen her before but I can't remember where or when. Long dark hair, golden eyes...red horns. That's right! She's the person I saw when I woke up after I fell unconscious in the cave. I'll need to thank her for taking care of me, especially when the person who should have actually looked after me ditched me and left me to die!

As I remember Roon, my blood begins boiling. The next time I see her I'm gonna-

Splash...Splash...Splash

There's that sound again. Walking towards it, I navigate my way through what is now seeming like an entire apartment until I arrive at my destination. Turning the corner, I stop short. There before my very eyes, a woman is washing in a standing bath. She hasn't noticed my presence as yet but my eyes have already skimmed every single detail. From the rose petals in the bath to the way the water slowly flows off her skin...

Gulping, I slowly begin backing up but I barely begin moving when her head spins in my direction. It's so sudden that for a moment I swear my soul leaves my body. I'm there, frozen in fear and unable to so much as breathe when she finally speaks.

????: Come, child.
