BOOOOOOOOOM!

My vision goes black as I feel my body thrown forward. Sometime later, I recover to the sight of the vehicle on fire. It doesn't look like anyone has died yet but it doesn't seem like they can get out either. As I continue looking around for some way out, however, I feel a sudden urge and instantly know what I need to do.

Bracing myself, I tell the others to move aside as I reposition my body. Then, with all my might, I kick at the door. It flies off, crashing into the ground some distance away with immense force. For a moment, everyone stares at the opening in shock (myself included), but when another bomb lands nearby and explodes, everyone floods out the vehicle and into the open field.

There, we find that more aircraft have arrived and are in the process of completing their attack run. There isn't a single allied aircraft in sight but the anti-air vehicles that had been escorting us are doing the best they can to offer cover fire from the treeline.

????: We need to get to the trees!

Francis: Go sir, we'll cover you!

Francis and the others all pick up rifles and turn to open fire on the incoming aircraft as if their rifles will so much as scratch the paint on these planes before they are all ripped to shreds. Still, better them than me. As I run off, however, I notice that the officer isn't following and stop.

????: What are you doing, soldier? Get your arses to that treeline, now!

They all hesitate and in that split second, I am reminded of my own crew when we found out that our carrier had been compromised. I had ordered everyone off the ship and they had all behaved the same as these men do now, stating that they'd stay behind to buy me enough time to get away by continuing to operate the defences and thus posing a threat to our enemy's forces. The memory brings a smile to my face and despite these being strangers, I can tell the officer cares about them in a similar way I did my own.

Me: I'll provide cover fire!

Everyone turns to face me but it is the commanding officer who responds first, giving me a slight nod before leading his men away. Why did I say that? It's not like I have anything to fight back with!

Me: Oh Zhejiang, lend me your strength-

BOOOOOM BOOOOOOM BOOOOOOM!

Above me, three aircraft get reduced to rubble as the others break away to avoid a similar fate. Tracing the source of the attack, I find Roon standing there staring at me with an odd expression on her face. She doesn't seem upset but the ripped fabric in her clenching fist says otherwise.

Roon: You were leaving me behind, weren't you?

Me: I-

Roon: HAHAHAHAHAHA! She forgot about me...I told you she still-
