The minute I step out of the plane, a man rushes over. From the look on his face, I can already tell it is bad news but despite this, I still put on a smile. Like it or not, I'm the leader of this broken nation now and I need to act the part.

????: Excuse the instruction, your...er...majesty. We've detected a battle in the vicinity of the last known position of the unregistered KANSEN.

Me: Last known position?

????: We've also lost her signal.

Me: Has she already sunken?

????: It is unclear as it could also be interference.

Of course. In that case, we still have to at least find out what the hell is going on.

Prinz Eugen: I'm telling you!

Hearing Eugen's voice brings a smile to my face, replacing the ever increasingly menacing scowl that had been there prior. Turning, I find her and a few of the others also stepping out of an aircraft. Beside them, the remainder of our little party exits a third aircraft.

Bismark: So what's the plan?

Me: Well, since we're already here we might as well check it out.

Bismark: Understood. I'll inform the others.

As she walks off, I realise for the first time that Parseval hasn't said anything since we picked him up. Usually, he'd be making some witty comment but there's nothing but silence.

Me: [Parseval, are you okay?]

I don't get a reply. It worries me a little but I don't get the chance to give it a second thought as the others all come over. After a brief but emotional reunion with Eugen, we set off. Some citizens come to see us off but given our sudden appearance and abrupt departure, I'm surprised some of them even found out we were in Bremen, to begin with. News sure does travel fast in this world.

The initial portions of the trip goes smoothly but as we cross out of Iron Blood territorial waters and into international water, the sounds of an intense battle quickly reach our ears.

Bismark: Up ahead!

Me: Take positions, Formation 4. Eugen, lead the charge.

All: Understood.

The two destroyers move to our flanks as Eugen and Hipper take the point of our spearhead. It's not the strongest formation I could have gone with for entering a battle but it does have its perks. Unlike a triple staggered column formation, which would have been the optimal choice if we had double the amount of girls, this one will allow us to adapt to the situation accordingly. Besides, I fully expect the enemy to have encircled the girl by now meaning we'll need to break through their defences to do so and that is where this handy little thing will come in handy.

Me: Quick and clean in and out mission. We get in, grab the girl, get out through the other end.

Bismark: But-

Me: Do not stop heading forward. No turns. You'll bleed speed by doing so and we'll lose our advantage. Understood?

All: Yes ma'am.

Me: Good. Then let's get started.

To begin, Bismark and I open fire. Our shots are aimed over the horizon but are fired at such a distance that we'll arrive within visual range of the targets before they land at their mark. We'll also have reloaded to prepare for a second volley by then to again engage but this time with far more accuracy. The initial salvo is simply to disrupt their lines, after all.

Everything goes to plan at first and we easily punch straight through the outer lines. On the inside, however, we find a girl locked in fierce combat with what looks like a Royal Navy girl at first but soon becomes clear it is just another SIREN. The other girl on the other hand is 100% from Iron Blood. There can be no doubt about it. That is-

Eugen: Is that-

Hipper: That's me!

Now that they mention it, she does look a lot like Hipper. The clothing is different but the rest of her appearance, generally speaking, is there. They could easily pass for twins, unlike Eugen and the same.

Me: We can worry about who or what she is later. Get her and let's go!

While they break off to grab ahold of the girl, Bismark and I move to the forefront of the formation. Aiming straight ahead, we prepare to open consecutive salvos into the ever-shifting line to make a hole through which we can all pass through but right before we can open fire, the SIRENS all stop before vanishing through portals.

Bismark: That's new.

Me: Which part?

Bismark: It's unlike them not to conclude things.

Eugen: She really is like you Sis! Even got that washboard-

Hipper: Shut up!

Eugen: Hahahahaha!

????: Who do you think you are talking-AAAHHH! Unhand me at once!

Eugen: I take it back, hers are bigger.

Hipper: UUUUUGGGGGHHH!!! I'll kill you for that!
