Y/N POV

I'm sitting outside of one of my favorite cafes sipping on some coffee while I wait for Lizzie to meet me. I let my gaze wander beneath my sunglasses and watch the people around me. I don't like LA. It's a little too...self centered for me. Some parts are good, but where I work in all the recording studios the people are unbearable.

"Hey, bug." She greets me out of nowhere and I almost jump. I look to my side and lose my breath at the bright smile I'm met with. I let my gaze wander to her simple white shirt and linen pants. She looks so relaxed but still elegant and I don't know how she pulls it off.

"Hey, Lizard." I respond and stand up to pull her into a quick hug. The feeling of her hands on my back ignites butterflies in my stomach that I hope go away. It's just Lizzie, calm down.

But it's not just Lizzie. It's a Lizzie I don't really know much about anymore. I know what I've seen but I don't trust the tabloids. I don't know if she's still like how she was in college or not. So I feel nervous about meeting her again.

"Do you mind if we sit inside?" She asks before I can sit back down.

"Of course." I agree knowing she might want to stay out of prying eyes. One thing I hate about LA is how quickly paparazzi find the stars.

I follow her inside and to a table in the back, watching as she orders a drink at the counter. The way she moves is the same, but there's more of a confidence to her walk and I love it.

"So." She starts when she sits down, her coffee cup in hand. "What did I miss in the last nine years?" She asks with an adorable grin as she slides her sunglasses onto the top of her head.

My brain short circuits as I look into her beautiful green eyes and I have to take a deep breath before I respond. "Well...a lot I guess." I comment. "I'm sure I missed a bunch too." I comment so she knows I want to know about her too.

"Mhm, it's been a long time. But why don't we start from when we last saw each other?" She suggests.

"That sounds like a good plan." I agree.

"So, what did you do after you left my apartment?" She asks and I think back to that moment, a moment I haven't thought about in a long time.

"Actually, I feel like I should start before that, in the year between when we saw each other." I decide and she nods, letting me start.

Fall 2012

Soon after breaking up with Lizzie, this group called Fifth Harmony picked up a cheesy ass song I wrote called Miss Movin on. It did really well so their team is staying in contact with me to help write their debut album. This also got the attention of a famous boy band.

Fifth Harmony and One Direction are under the same labels and I work for those labels. Which means I get to write for both of the groups. So while I'm writing for Reflection I'm also writing for Midnight Memories. Midnight memories had already started when they brought me into the process so I get to finish up the album with the boys so it can be released in 2013.

All the boys are so sweet and very talented. Harry and Louis are really into writing and help out with lyrics while Niall helps out with the instrumentation. They are very busy so a lot of the production and writing falls to me and a few other writers but we are in contact a lot so the album is approved by all the boys.

Fifth Harmony's album takes a lot more time to figure out. Their management sucks ass honestly. I feel really bad for the girls and how their team treats them. I hate seeing this side of the industry so I try my best to be a good listener when they open up about it. They are also busy with promoting their EP so while they do their thing I continue to write potential songs for them to pick from.
