Y/N POV

"So, I've told you about who I've dated...what about you?" Lizzie asks as we walk slowly down the street, sunglasses now covering her eyes.

"Well...I uh...I wouldn't say I dated anybody." I try to explain, slightly afraid of what she will think about my behavior.

"Nobody?" She asks and I shrug.

"I mean, not officially or for a long period of time no." I continue to explain.

"Oh...OH." She realizes and I nod. "That's...okay." She mumbles, not sure how to respond.

"I had a bit of fun. No feelings or strings attached worked for me." I defend lightly.

"No hey, I'm not judging, I just didn't really expect that from you." She explains.

"There was one person I saw myself with kind of. I met her back in 2015. Wrote a song for her. Well...maybe I saw myself with more than one person." I try to explain as I think through my history with women.

"You didn't mention it earlier." She picks up on.

"Well I can tell you now. I haven't gotten that far yet, nosey." I tease. She nudges my side with her elbow playfully before I start speaking.

So I had Ed's release party in June of 2014 and met a bunch of cool people. The One Direction boys were there and made sure to embarrass me by hanging all around me so no one would even come up to me. I escaped and got some networking in and met Hailee Steinfeld.

I saw recently that Lizzie is rumored to be engaged to Boyd and it made my blood boil. I had to remind myself that we are over. I wrote this song called Jealous in my sad girl hours and Labrinth picked it up.

But back to Hailee. She is an absolute sweetheart. When I met her she was 18 and wanted to get started on her music career. So I invited her to come by Sony and we started working on some songs. We spent a lot of time together writing this song called Starving. It might be one of my favorite songs I've written.

I didn't know that I was starving till I tasted you
Don't need no butterflies when you give me the whole damn zoo
By the way, right away, you do things to my body
I didn't know that I was starving till I tasted you

We became friends easily and started hanging out more. I quickly realized she might have a crush on me, so I might have ghosted her a little bit.

Fifth harmony finally gets their shit together and I start spending hours in the studio with them to get all the songs they want recorded. Their team and how they treat the girls fuels my desire to start my own label to sign my own artists but I have a contract that isn't expiring soon thanks to my ex. So I have to wait.

Lauren is now 18 and thinks she's grown. But she isn't and I remind her every fucking day. She does manage to get my number somehow but doesn't reach out often thankfully.

We finish the album in time for its release in January.

January 2015

I attend the release party with Fifth Harmony because I do truly care about the girls. They seem to have a bunch of fun and I meet some people. I leave early though and head back to the studio to finish up some songs for One Direction. I might be a workaholic but whatever.

Zayn is planning to leave and their label wants new music ready to go by summer. I'm working on a song called Drag me Down and I know this will be Harry's song.

When I am on my way out I notice a band in the studio next door and almost run over a guy that is leaving it. "Oh sorry." I apologize.

"Hey wait, you are Y/N, right?" He asks and I nod. "I'm Matt." He introduces and I quickly realize I'm talking to Matty Healy from the 1975. Oh wow, Lauren would actually flip her shit if she knew they were here.
