Y/N POV

Once I can convince the children to leave Lizzie alone for a moment to go play, she is able to greet Marie and Derek who are also happy to see her. She offers to help Marie with dinner and my sister welcomes the help, knowing how good of a cook Lizzie is.

Derek and I sit at the counter and watch. Well I admire the beauty in front of me mostly and I'm pretty sure he's gawking at his wife.

Mia and Aiden decided to play piano together so they are giving us a nice ambiance that is disrupted by random finger smashes that Mia does to make Aiden laugh. Charlie sits in the living room playing with Aiden's action figures, laughing at his cousins.

Dinner proves to be delicious and everyone is happy with their full tummies before bed. Aiden and Mia give big hugs and get head kisses from Lizzie before running upstairs to take showers and get ready for bed.

They are doing really well for having just lost their parents and I'm thankful. Mia has her days and Aiden will get frustrated sometimes because he hates the change and not having his parents around. But they are good at comforting each other and love family snuggles too.

They also love to talk to Lizzie and I think she helps them more than she realizes. It's really sweet how much they love her and even sweeter that she returns that love. She's so patient and attentive with them and it's lovely.

Derek left for a week to get all their stuff in London sorted so they can move back. He had a moving company help out apparently and now they are just waiting for their stuff to arrive. It was kind of nice when he was gone to have sister snuggles with Marie.

But, now that Marie, Derek and Charlie are all here, we are down to one guest room. I've been using it but with Lizzie here, I might be taking the couch.

I secretly just want to share the room with Lizzie but I'm not sure if that's something she is comfortable doing yet. She just got out of a pretty serious relationship and I don't want to move too fast or push her into something she isn't ready for. I also don't want to be a rebound.

So once we say goodnight to the kids I lead her over to the guest room where her suitcase is waiting. "Um, you can take the guest room." I offer.

"Well, where are you sleeping?" She asks, sitting on the edge of the bed.

"On a couch somewhere." I shrug. She scrunches her nose in distaste though. "Unless you want me to stay here." I offer.

"I think that should be fine." She decides, an amused smile on her lips.

"Oh really?" I tease and she giggles as she nods. Fuck she's adorable. I sit down next to her on the edge of the bed, her attention following my movements.

I can't look away from her sparkly eyes and adorable smile and find myself shifting awkwardly in my spot. It makes her smile grow. "You're still my shy awkward dork." She decides softly, making me scoff.

"Pfft, no I'm not, I'm so confident and smooth are you kidding?" I reply sarcastically.

"Mhm so smooth." She agrees. "I know we are joking but you are much more confident now." She decides with a thoughtful gaze.

"I don't feel more confident." The thought makes me laugh internally. If anything I'm more unsure of myself in some ways. Maybe I've grown a bunch but sometimes I still feel small.

"Well, I see it." She replies confidently.

"How?"

"You're more flirty now and just the way you carry yourself. You look really comfortable in your own skin. It's very attractive." She decides.
