Y/N POV

The rest of my Monday was pretty uneventful. Lauren asked me about Lizzie once we finished up a few tracks and I told her a little bit about us but not much. It just feels weird sharing it with her after breaking things off with her via text. We weren't together and I know we are fine but I still feel awkward about it, especially with Lizzie around.

I feel horrible but it's my job. I promised to work with Lauren and we have a contract so I can't really say no.

When I get home from work, the sweet smell of dinner fills my nose and makes me so much calmer than I was a second ago. Wait...did I just call Lizzie's house home?

"Hey, bug!" She greets and I can't help but smile as I run into the kitchen and scoop her up into my arms. Her giggles fill my ears and my stomach flips at the sound. "Careful! I'm making soup." She warns as I put her down.

"Mmm soup sounds lovely." I decide and peck her lips a few times before letting her get back to work.

"So, I was thinking I'll stay here tomorrow and get some work of my own done." Lizzie shares as I sit on a stool at the island counter.

I frown at the information and lean onto my hand to watch her cook. "Why?" I ask simply.

"Well, I have to make sure everything is ready for Boston and Italy next week. I have to get some work done before we leave." She explains and I nod. I forgot we have travel plans coming up.

"Okay, makes sense. I'll miss you." I offer with a small smile that grows when she turns to smile softly at me.

"I'll miss you too but you will be busy so it's okay." She reminds me and I nod even though she isn't looking at me. The reminder of work makes me sigh to myself.

"I'm sorry if today was weird. I felt a little awkward with her around while you were there. I promise there isn't anything going on. It's just an interesting situation." I explain and she turns after pouring me a bowl of soup.

She slides it over to me with a smile. "I appreciate that. I felt a little weird too. She seems nice though and I can tell you like writing together." She shares her observations and I nod.

"Yeah we always do well writing together." I agree. After that we start talking about what to pack for our trips coming up while the soup fills our tummies with warmth. She has a fitting with her sisters in New York this weekend so it looks like we will be stopping there first before heading to Boston.

We settle on the couch for a good cuddle while Schitt's creek plays on the TV as a thought pops into my head.

"What if I stay home with you tomorrow and help out with the trip preparation?" I suggest and she turns her head to look up at me. I smile at her puckered lips and give her a soft kiss before she answers.

"It's okay babe, you have work. I don't have much going on right now so I can do it." She assures me but I pout.

"Please? I want to stay home with you. I can work from home if I need to." I explain.

"What about Lauren?" She asks quietly and I notice her volume drop slightly.

"She has a few tracks she can work on with an engineer tomorrow. We can do more writing on Wednesday." I plan out and she hums in thought.

"Only if you're sure." She decides and cuddles back into my chest.

"Oh I'm sure. I want to be where you are." I smile when I hear the small gasp fall from her lips and she takes a deep breath.

"You and your words Y/N." She whispers and I grin in triumph.

The rest of the evening is spent together before getting ready for bed and falling into restful sleep. When I wake up in the morning her big comfy bed is empty and it makes me audibly whine.
