Maria Alvarez was driving madly in the streets of New York toward her flat. Her heart was literally jumping out of her rib cage and her whole body was shaking with fear. It was a miracle that the police had not stopped her till then.

She still couldn't believe that her cousin was back and had threatened her that if she doesn't go back to her flat right away, her little sister would pay the price and only God knew what that means in her cousin's twisted world.

She slammed on the brakes in front of the building of her flat and darted out of the car,  not bothering to lock it, and dashed up the stairs. Her heart sank as she reached the floor and pushed open the glass doors that was leading to the corridor of her flat and heard the muffled cries of her sister.

she burst through the front doors and her soul left her body at the sight in front of her. Raul, Santiago's right hand was on top of her practically naked sister with his hand dangerously low, near her panties, while keeping her down with his other hand and kissing her roughly.

Her sister's face was soaked with tears and her eyes were tightly shut as she was helplessly trashing under the man who was twice her size.

"GET THE FUCK OFF OF HER, YOU BASTARD!" shouted Maria as she ran into the house and toward her sister. But before she can take a few steps forward, someone grabbed her shoulder and a fist collided with her belly hard, knocking the air out of her lungs. She dropped to the floor and moaned in excruciating pain.

"Good evening, dear cousin." Santiago's deep voice called near her ear on the ground and she opened her eyes and came face to face with him who had crunched down next to her and was watching her with a sickening smile on his face. He brushed a strand of hair out of her sweaty face and caressed her cheek with his finger. "How are you on this fine night? I've missed you."

"Please," choked Maria trying to gain control over the pain. "Don't hurt Anna."

"Of course," he said and gestured for Raul to stand up. "You were a good girl and came fast. I'm not that heartless you know."

Maria turned her head and saw Anna now curled to a ball on the ground near the sofa and shaking with sobs while her hair had covered her face. Raul had stood next to her, watching her with malice and hunger in his eyes.

"What do you want of us?" asked Maria as she tried to sit.

Santiago stood and motioned for someone behind her and soon a pair of arms grabbed each of her shoulders and roughly brought her to her knees. She winced in pain but tried to stay still to avoid more damage. She needed to focus for the sake of Anna.

Santiago sat on a sofa and grabbed a cigarette and lit it. He then put his elbows on his knees and stared at Maria. "You really thought that you can get away from me?" he asked amused while exhaling the smoke in Maria's face who coughed hard. 

"We have no use for you." said Maria weakly. "Please leave us alone. Uncle wouldn't want this."

Immediately, a sound of a slap echoed in the small flat. Maria's face whipped to a side from the force of the hit and her neck was about to break. Her body would have collapsed on the ground if the two men had not had an iron grip on her shoulders. 

Santiago grabbed her chin and roughly forced her to look at him. His face was dangerously close to her and his eyes were blazing with anger. "Don't speak of my father, you ungrateful bitch." he spat in her face. "After all we did to take care of you two sluts, this is how you thank us. By leaving the family and betraying us."
