Mason sighed and looked at his phone that was ringing. It was late and he was at his office in the company's building, working on some contracts and files. He had not slept last night at all, thinking about Xander and the disaster that had happened and he was tired to the core. All he wanted was to go home, see his kids and sleep with Bella in his arms, trying to escape from his suffocating thoughts.
But he was busy at the company because of skipping some work in the past weeks to deal with Gomez and his shit. So he had to work extra to keep everything going perfectly. Of course, his brothers and Ben were helping a lot, but as the CEO and Don, still, most of the work should have been done by him and he didn't exactly have had any help in the last two days.
Kate was not feeling well and Mason had given Rich a few days off to help his wife. Ben's mind was completely off because of Maria for sure. Xander and Damien were not in a shape to help and that only remained Hunter who had helped Mason that day and Mason had sent him home an hour ago when he practically slept on the desk.
"What is it?" he answered his phone and rubbed his face, knowing that it was one of the guards he had put to watch over Xander.
"Sir, it's your brother, Xander." the guard's voice was panicked, fearing punishments. "He managed to escape. His twin knocked us out and helped him. We didn't find them in the mansion. They must have left at least an hour ago."
Mason sighed again and closed his eyes, knowing exactly where his brothers were heading off to. "Okay. Don't panic." he said and felt the man on the other side of the line relax. "You did nothing wrong. You can clean the cell and leave the dungeons. Xander will not come back."
"Thank you, sir." said the man, and Mason ended the call.
He closed his eyes and leaned his forehead on his hands and let his mind and eyes rest for a moment before he stood up and grabbed his suit jacket. He glanced at his watch that was showing 11 PM. He sighed before sending a message to Bella, telling her to go to bed without him.
He then grabbed his briefcase and walked out of his office and to his private elevator.

Damien parked the car in the hospital's parking lot and looked at Xander who was watching the hospital building. Guilt and sadness had covered his always angry eyes.
"She is in room number 304 on the third floor." said Damien and Xander nodded without looking at him. "Matt will be there, guarding. But I'm not sure about Maria."
"Thank you. For everything." whispered Xander and then got out of the car and walked to the front doors.
Damien sighed and closed his tired eyes. Mason would definitely kill both of them, but he was ready to do anything for his twin so he would feel better slightly.
Xander had barely talked and had not eaten anything at all. He was sitting on the cell's bed with his legs pulled up and his arms resting on his knees, staring into space. Sometimes he would close his eyes tightly and Damien had to go through the torture of watching his twin who was always strong and hotheaded, crying silently, cursing himself.
He didn't know how long he sat there with his eyes closed and his head leaned on the seat rest, but suddenly, he heard a knock on the window and his eyes snapped open. He dropped his head and exhaled loudly once he saw Mason's gray-blue eyes looking at him intently.
He got out of the car and closed the door and dropped his head at seeing Mason who had stood there with his hands in his pockets looking at him with his emotionless eyes.
"I should have helped him." explained Damien and looked back into Mason's eyes. "He is suffering like never before. I'm afraid he does something silly and hurts himself."
