Frank chewed his pizza, looking at Gerard. Something was off with him. Frank had asked once already what was wrong and Gerard had said nothing, but it didn't seem like nothing.

Suddenly, Gerard looked up at Frank. "Can we go outside?" he asked.

Frank was a little taken aback. Why?

"Sure," he said, taking another slice with him.

So now they sat outside, on the concrete steps facing the backyard. "Sorry," Gerard said.

"For what?" asked Frank, puzzled.

"For moving us. You were probably more comfortable inside."

"No, I don't mind being outside. Why'd you wanna come out here, though?"

"Sometimes I just like being outside."

Okay.

"Okay."

They ate their pizza.
