Michael James Way had a secret.

The key word there being had.

This secret was that he was dating a certain Peter Wentz, and he'd been absolutely determined to keep it quiet.

But somehow, his annoying, stupid, annoying, ugly, annoying fucking brother managed to get in the way. Like always.

Gerard was a great Mario opponent, but honestly, Mikey couldn't stand the guy. He was too loud, too weird, and never stopped blasting his shitty music through the goddamn walls.

Mikey just wanted this one thing, one thing, to be a secret from his brother, especially because neither Mikey nor Pete were out to to their families. They'd been dating for exactly one month, and things were going... I guess how you'd expect a middle-school relationship to go.

 
"Listen, Pete, I'm not gonna tell him who you are. I promise. He was bugging me about it earlier and I just acted like a dick until he left."

Pete nodded. "Okay. Thank you."

Mikey then kissed Pete, which to you, might seem affectionate.

But really, they were a couple of 13-year-olds. They barely knew each other; all they knew was they were the only gay kids the other was aware of, besides Gerard (ew), so they supposed they had to date.

It's funny, Mikey could tell you about every hair on Pete's head and Pete could tell you about every crease in Mikey's lips, but neither of them would be able to tell you the other's favorite color if you tortured them.

They watched movies, they held hands, and they kissed, and sometimes they talked but it was never very deep or personal. Both of them felt that they were missing a crucial bit required for a relationship, but neither of them wanted to say anything. So they watched movies, held hands, and kissed, and that was that. Mikey had low expectations if we're being honest. He figured he liked Pete, Pete liked him, and he'd better take advantage of when someone he likes likes him back.
