Chapter 11

Following friday...

Tay's POV

The rest of the weekend went by smoothly because Meg and Tyler left and went to her house instead for the rest of the weekend. After checking in with Meg's parents, my parents gave them the clear sensing that the tension was too high.

Things seemed really bad for Tyler at home so my parents made him move in and pulled some strings so that he can finish his senior year at my school. My parents didn't specify and said its something Tyler should tell me himself so I just left it at that. Me and him are not close so I doubt I'll ever know unless I hear through the grapevine. I love that my parents are generous and stuff but I can't help and feel extremely jealous when he and Meg hang out over at my house.

The guest room was right beside my room so that didn't make the situation better either. At least I get to see Meg more often. She's still ignoring me and I hate it! I want to be mad too but to be honest I already got over what happened that weekend.

I was walking down the empty halls towards the bathroom and saw Tyler and Meg talking by a locker. When I got closer to the two, Tyler signal me to come over and I did sensing it might be something important.

"Tay your mom said to be home by 6 the latest because they'll be going tonight " Tyler told me as I got closer to the two. I just nodded in response.

"I got classes so see you later" was all Meg said before walking off and leaving just us two. I just watched sadly at her back as she made her way down the hall.

I scoffed and was about to continue my journey but I turned back to Tyler before I did so. He had an expression that said he had more to say.

Tyler looked like he got over what happened too. Meg was the only one who was acting like I didn't exist and it pained me. I was getting flashbacks.

"Is that all?" I asked

"No, actually Meg is coming over too"I rolled my eyes in response.

"Did you have to tell me that tho" I said with an attitude.

"Just saying so you don't get surprised later" he said and I nodded.

"Mm ok" I quickly said and made my way to the bathroom.

Classes were now over and I was putting away my books in my locker when I felt a hand over my eyes.

" you're not as smooth as you think you are Calvin Joshua Howard." I say turning around to face him.

He gave me a warm smile before engulfing me in a hug. I responded by placing my hands around his waist.

"I missed you today" he whispered by my ear and I smiled before pulling away.

"Today I had a lot dance stuff to deal with." I reminded him and he nodded.

"You're going home after this?" He asked as I adjusted my straps for my backpack.

"Yeah I'm on babysitting duty" I replied and he nodded before giving me a knowing look.

"Yes you can come over and play 2k with Mikah and Millie" I said and he immediately lit up.

He and the twins compete very seriously when I babysit because they can play later than when my parents are home. Otherwise from coming over to see me, he comes over to get his ass beat in 2k by a pair of 7 year olds.

"Thank you thank you" he chanted as he twirled me around.

"Put me down fool!" I said in between laughs until he placed me on the ground again.

"Gawd I hate when you do that" I said pushing him lightly.

"Aww you love me tho" he teased as he placed his arms around my shoulder before walking to his car so that he can drive me home.

We were in the car letting the radio play softly in the background. Cal didn't like his music loud so I often put in my airpods. As I was putting in them Cal said a statement which I knew would lead to a conversation that will last as longer than the drive.

"I saw you talking to them today" he said and I sighed

"Them who?" i asked

"Tyler and Megan" he replied

"You saw me talking to Tyler. Meg doesn't even wanna talk to me" i corrected and he pursed his lips together meaning he was thinking. About what? i don't know...

"Well I guess that's for the better" he mumbled but i heard him clearly.

"Better how?" i asked annoyed and he glanced at me before starting his rant.

"Of course you're oblivious to the way she looks at you." he breathed out. He was getting angry.

"How does she looks at me?" i said carefully and he ran a hand over his face.

"I saw you guys at the arcade" He said softly and i almost didn't catch it. It's almost like the memory pained him to bring up.

"I don't know what you're talking about" I replied quickly and turned my head towards the window.

"Don't act dumb now Tay I saw you guys at the dance revolution machine" was the last thing he said before we pulled up to the gates of my house.

I entered the password and he drove up the driveway and parked the car. It was quiet now. Only the sound was the a/c blowing which created cool background noises in this heated atmosphere.

"I saw how she looks at you Tay... and as your boyfriend I don't like it." he said after a moment of silence.

"She's just a friend. You know this!" i turned to him and say and his eyes were glossy but his face had a scowl on it.

"Just a 'friend' but you still can't tell me what happened during spring break" he said

"I don't want to." i said back while down at my twiddling fingers.

"why?" he asked softly

"I don't have any reason" i replied and he sighed before running a hand down his face.

"I know she likes you Tay... The same day we went out was the day she came by to tell you" when he said that my head whipped around to look on his face and he looked like he is telling the truth.

"What?" it was low but the anger was visible in my tone.

"S-she told me what happened between you two over spring break. She knew that I liked you and vice versa so... We made a bet at that arcade who got the highest score on Dance revolution gets to ask you out and if you didn't agree to going out the other person gets to take you out instead. I-"

"who won?" was the only question I could've come up with at the moment.

"Me." Was all he said before I unbuckled my seatbelt and grabbed my stuff angrily.

"Tay wait! Tay! Tay!" I knew he was following me inside but I wanted to see if Meg was already here because I'm beyond pissed!

I heard laughing in the kitchen and made out Meg's voice so I power walked into the kitchen.

There she was laughing with Tyler, and despite me being angry right now I couldn't ignore how beautiful she looked. My anger took over and I throwed my school bag at her. Immediately gathering attention which made her walk up to me. Height didn't matter right now what mattered is that I'm fucking mad!

Cal rushed over to hold me back and Tyler did the same to Meg.
