Flashback part 2
"I think we should stop" the look on my face didn't make me want to continue but I don't want to lose her because of my feelings.
"What?" She said after getting off my lap.
"I don't want to lose you as my best friend because of these silly feelings" I explained and the look on her face told me she didn't like my word of
choice.
"I-I don't mean it like that... I just... what if these feelings are just temporary.We could ruin something that's already so good." I expressed and all I heard her let out was a frustrated sigh before getting up to stand in-front of me.
"I really want to understand what you're saying right now but the more I run it over in my head I get more and more mad! "ruin something that's already good"?! I like you and that's make me happy that's why I told you! And honestly after that kiss if I don't get to be your girlfriend then I don't want to be anything else!" She ranted and then picked up her stuff to leave.
"W-where are you going??" I asked and rushed over to her and held the hand that was reaching for her suitcase.
"I'm giving you space to think. By space I mean 1 week Meg. If by then you can't tell me straight up what you want then we're done. In every way." She said and it was my turn to get mad.
"I'm not making my choice based on your time Tay. It's final I don't want to throw away our friendship for these feelings." I argued and she turned to me. By this time I loosened my grip on her hand so she forcefully pushed my hand off hers easily.
"These feelings?! You said it like it's so insignificant! You know what Meg fuck you! And fuck this friendship! Just... fuck everything! I shouldn't have confessed to your coward ass!" She yelled at me and I was hurt she would call me a coward, but she was not lying.
"I'm not going there with you!" I yelled back and she rolled her eyes.
"Of course not! Because you're a fucking coward! I had to tell you I like you! And all you did was kiss me instead of saying that shit with your chest! The only thing u seem to be good at is making me upset for no reason and kicking balls around! I'm done with you!" She yelled before walking out and slamming the door.
"Ughhh fuckkkk" I let out a frustrated groan and decided to shower and go to sleep.
Tay POV:
After the whole spring break fiasco, Meg literally ghosted me. I was crying in my room for a whole 3 days before Cal came to play hero.
We spent the remaining break together and ended up boyfriend and girlfriend. He was a good boyfriend for the most part, but everytime we kissed I thought of Meg.
I need to work on that. I mean eventually it will go away right?
I hope so...
Present day~
Meg POV:
What I was doing in front of Tay's house? Apologizing was what was on my mind but her stubbornness is going to make it hard.
The elegant large mahogany door opened and revealed Tay's mom. Her sweet motherly smile appeared as she realize it was me.
"Meg honey come in!" She waved me in the house and I followed her in.
"Do you want coffee or anything?" She asked as we made our way into the kitchen.
"No I'm good thanks for asking." I said and took a seat around the kitchen island.
"Are you here to see Tay?" She asked after a minute of silence.
"Yes." And she nodded taking a sip of coffee.
"Did she tell you anything about me?" I asked and she placed a knowing smile on her face.
"Not explicitly, but a mother knows certain things" she said and I nodded understanding what she meant.
"And because I know you and my daughter are stubborn as hell, here's a little advice. Be honest with her and she will give in Meg. The way she feels for you it's not like how she feels for other people. She was crying here all ni-"
"MA!" I heard her beautiful voice yell as her mom was in the middle of exposing her.
"Oop. I'm sorry" her mom chuckled in response and smiling.
"Well I'll leave you two to it" she said before lightly squeezing my shoulder for encouragement and kissing Tay's forehead before leaving house alone in the kitchen.
"What are you doing here?" Tay said clearly annoyed with my presence.
Damn here we go...
"Well damn no hi or nothing first" I replied which made her roll her eyes before approaching the refrigerator for some water.
"Please don't play with me right now Meg. it's a weekend morning so please don't do this" she expressed with a tired tone and I felt bad knowing I was apart of the reason she felt that way.
"...i came to apologize" I said truthfully and she hummed in response.
"All I get is a hum?" I asked with a raised eyebrow. She was now on the opposite side of the kitchen island finishing her glass of water.
"What you want? A congratulations?" She said in a bored tone before placing the now finished glass of water in the sink.
"Look Tay. I'm trying here" I said seriously and she just stared back at me with soul searching eyes.
"Well try harder" she said before making her way to the staircase to go to her room.
I immediately got up and followed her there. She entered her room first and tried to lock me out, but I stopped the door with my foot.
She was giving all her strength trying to move my foot but it didn't work out. She then let out a frustrated sound and made me enter the room.
"I hate you." She spoke as I walked over to her desk where she was sat on her gaming chair.
"No you don't" I said while spinning the chair around so she can face me.
"How would you know?" She said and I kneeled down so we could be at eye level with each other.
"Because I'm your ex best friend who you love and have feelings for. And I know I was wrong for putting my feelings for you on pause for some bet, but I want you to know that I'm very very sorry and I regret that day every time I see you guys together. I know I may be a little late but please please give me another chance to date you and have the honor of calling you my girlfriend." I said sincerely hoping she would sense that as the words left my mouth.
"You hurt me Meg... more than once too..." she said tearing up and causing me to the same.
"I know and for that I'm sorry" I said truthfully gently placing my hands on her cheeks and pressing our forehead's together.
"But I'll do whatever to make you forgive me" I finished looking straight into her beautiful eyes as she stared in mine. I wanted to kiss her so bad but that can wait. I needed her to forgive me first.
"Meg..." she said closing her eyes and making a tear fall causing me to use my thumb to brush it away.
"I'm sorry... I'm so so sorry" I pleaded with my voice cracking and all, then eventually her eyes open to stare back at me again.
Tay sighed softly letting out a breath and closed her eyes again, but this time it was to lean and close the gap between our lips.
