Chapter 27

Tay's POV:

It was graduation day and I was nervous to say the least. I never really been the one to brag about my academic achievements but today I was giving my speech as the valedictorian! Even though I was overjoyed with this honor, I was still nervous as hell about my speech.

The whole house was filled with tension because of how I've been going over my speech consistently and displaying displeasure if I hear a peep of noise. Meg and my parents helped a lot when it came to giving me little comments and encouragement but I was still on the edge and nervous. I know I danced in front of a lot of people before but that was different from talking to them directly. Meg, my parents, and my close friends complimented me a lot on my speech but my overthinking forbid me to believe them.

I finally made it downstairs to my family talking amongst each other. My mom almost flew out the whole family but only my grandma and my moms older sister was coming to the graduation. Tyler had a n extra invitation so they both could have came. Everyone else decided to stay back and prepare everything for the party later. I'm just glad the headache with who deserves the invitation the most was over with.

"Come here come here" my aunt Vivica rushed as we all got ready to take pictures. 

"Look at my babies" my grandmother said as she came to pinch both me and Tyler's cheek.

"Grandmaaaa" we whines and then was tapped on our arms to take pictures.

My mom touched up my lip gloss and then we were all ready to take about a 100 photos before leaving. I took some with my uncles, aunts, cousins, and then my grandparents.

After all the talking and 'good lucks', we finally made it out the door and headed over to the graduation. I was fiddling with my fingers during the whole drive and tried my best to not let my nervous thoughts get to me but it was hard.

"Hey Tay we're here." My mom said tapping my shoulders to get my attention because I was zoned out.

After getting my speech and spare lip gloss I headed out to meet the rest of my family. Everyone was outside talking and I noticed my girlfriend's family and my friends family talking with mine. After I greeted all the adults, I made it over to my friends and Meg.

We all said hi and they went back to talking amongst each other. Me on the other hand was cuddling at Megs side while she kept a secured hand around my waist.

"Are you nervous?" She suddenly whispered in my ear causing me to meet her eyes staring down into mine.

"A little." I answered and she smiled at me then pulled me into a tight hug which I gladly welcomed.

"You're gonna do great babe" she reassured me and placed a soft kiss on my forehead causing my anxious thoughts to fade away for a second.

I tiptoed and gave her quick kiss on her lips causing her to smiled down sweetly at me.

"Okay love birds it's time to go in now" Gia jokingly said pulling us out of our own little world.

"Let's go." I said intertwining our fingers and walk in the graduation hall.

About and 45mins later...

This graduation was long as fuck. To say I was tired would be an understatement. The only good thing is I already gave my speech and didn't make any mistakes! I was so proud of myself. After saying my speech and everything, it was time for more speeches. Our school didn't get Denzel so we opted for Will Smith this year.

Someones' dad was his golfing buddy and took the chance since it would help his kid get extra points to graduate. Atleast that's the runout that's been going around.
