Meg's POV:
I was in my backyard trying my best to drown out the fact that I am arguing with Tay right now. I really do love her but the exhaustion from the game mixed with the unnecessary arguing really threw me off. I mean I know she was there supporting me, but all the emotions from the game made me feel like she was being selfish getting angry at me. I still felt bad for snapping at her like that though because I could've handled it better and hear her out. All I could say I can't turn back the time and fix it now. I will just have to suck it up and apologize, but not tonight.
I mean I just got good with my dad and stuff, and then she starts an argument with me over a girl I don't even know. I mean I know the girl was clearly flirting with me, but I'm not one to voice out stuff, so I kept hearing her talk about the cheer dance I did. Maybe I was wrong for that, but like I said what's done is done.
I got tired of standing amongst the teenage sweaty bodies and moved out the crowd. When I was in the clear and could breathe again, I went into the kitchen. My parents decided to throw a party suggesting this was our last year and the big win to go to the finals. They made it clear that they don't mind their yard being thrashed but not in their house. The walls were sound proof so we took advantage of that. We set up a whole stage with two large speakers resembling the ones in that one SpongeBob episode. Everybody was enjoying themselves and dancing or swimming in the pool.
I walked in and saw Tyler and a guy I recognized from the basketball team laughing together. I just smiled at them and went to get a glass of water. After filling my glass with water from the refrigerator, I walked to the counter and leaned back on it because I was too tired to stand fully right now. I just focused my attention on a random spot and started to make my mind wonder and ignore my surroundings.
"You don't look like someone who just won a championship." I heard from beside me and saw Tyler's figure sitting on the counter beside me. I almost jumped out of fright but my body was too lazy to react.
"When the hell did you appear beside me?" I asked side eyeing him.
"Real gangstas move in silence" he joked and I chuckled then placed my cup in the dishwasher.
"Says the suburban child" I teased while joining him on the counter top.
"You're suburban too big head" he said and we both just laughed at ourselves.
"Yeah but I'm not claiming to be gangsta" I replied and he rolled his eyes.
"Why are you digging so deep into my jokes bro?" He asked with a smile and I just sighed and laid my head on his shoulders.
"I got into an argument with Tay." I confessed playing with the ring on my thumb.
"How bad was it?" He asked
"I snapped at her. Then when she walked away I didn't even try to get her." I explained. My voice sounded heavy and tired. This argument coupled with that game is not good.
"That does sound bad being that you're a big ass simp for my cousin and all" he replied and I rolled my eyes but not hiding the smile spreading across my lips. For her I'll be anything tbh.
"Oh shut up! Mr. NBA" I teased
"No no no don't try to take the spotlight off on yourself" he responded and I just shook my head.
"What did you do to make her mad?" He questioned and I let out a sigh before answering.
"I was talking to Hailey after the game" i confessed
"Ohhh you fucked uppp" he drawled out and I lifted my head to see he was serious and had a look on his face that suggested he knew something I don't.
"Wait. Why do you have that look on your face?" I asked curiously and he shook his head in disappointment.
