Rurik returned after a tiring day at work. He slammed his fist against the wall twice after he closed the door. It was his way of telling his property that he was home. The timid skeleton crept around in the corners in the shadows of the home so no one could spot him as he did the daily chores and cleaned. Lotus was his name. Rurik walked up to the small malnourished skeleton and gently cradled him in his arms. Lotus flinched when the arms wrapped around him but he calmed down and leaned into Rurik's embrace. A soft kiss was placed at the top of his skull. Rurik had taken lotus three years ago. The taller had claimed the smaller after he found the skeleton in a horrible mental state. Everyone knew who lotus was. Everyone knew who his parents were and everyone knew to be wary of him. Lotus had escaped his parent's home before he wandered around aimlessly. People who hated his parents had found him and they had horribly damaged him with a multitude of different torture methods until he had an outburst of magic that made him kill them. Survival instincts had taken over his body and he had killed them within seconds but it had taken a great toll on his mental health leaving him in a state between insane and sane. That was how Rurik found the smaller. Broken scared and mentally unstable. Rurik had claimed the smaller. He had fallen for the smaller at the sight and was determined to protect him and fix his otherwise unstable mental state. now three years later was lotus doing much better. He had small signs of all his past trauma and had a few strict rules but he was loved and sane. Rurik gently nuzzled into the smaller's neck before holding him close and letting him go.

"There is ghost lamb in the kitchen," Lotus said in a quiet tone. Rurik groaned at the mention of the dish. Lotus only laughed quietly.

"You've lost too much blood lately so you need the iron," Lotus said with a soft smile. Rurik sighed but smiled as well and walked to the kitchen seeing two plates, one half empty telling him that lotus already started. He sat down and joined in the meal. It was lamb organs cooked in spinach and some spices. He hated the dish but he knew there was most likely pudding for dessert. They had both finished and Rurik was right. Lotus took out a pudding from the fridge. They both moved to the living room and watched Tv for an hour before lotus's curfew. Lotus had to be locked in his room during the night due to the high chance of someone breaking in. It would be hell on earth if his parents found out that lotus was there and probably the death of both of them. Rurik sighed as he locked the door to his lover's room and turned to the news. Reaper had once again increased the bounty on lotuses head. Any general location was accepted. Rurik sighed. He knew that one day they would be found and when that day came would lotus have to protect him not the other way around.

"Hopefully it won't be soon," Rurik thought out loud. He went to his bedroom and went to sleep. Lotus hadn't decided to sleep yet and had instead started tending to the small garden he had in his room. The black and red roses had been a gift and he loved caring for them. Rurik wasn't home most of the day and most of the chores could be done within a few hours so he had plenty of free time he could use on his garden and other hobbies. He didn't tell Rurik but he often train when he was alone. He went into a ghost form where he could attack anything alive but only living nothing physical would be hurt meaning he could be as wild as he wanted without breaking anything. He hated doing it but he knew he had to learn for the day he would have to repay his protector. The night quickly passed and Rurik left before Lotus was allowed out. It was an ordinary day for Rurik until reaper faced him with undyne. The only one above him.

"From today will our job be to find Goth," Undyne said. Rurik let out a laugh.

"Please he has been missing for 3 years what makes you so sure someone hasn't killed him or worse?" Rurik asked. Reaper turned to him with hatred.

"Because then they would have already come and collected their money," He said. Rurik kept his smug face and did his best to stay calm. He didn't let anyone know that he knew where lotus was he didn't let anyone notice that he was nervous. He divided people into different groups and let them rummage through people's houses and the forests of the underground. In the end, did he return and saw undyne and a group leave his house. He was pissed.
