The pain slowly leaves and soon the whole group is in a truth or dare match. "Lexi!" Bre practically shouts, "Truth or Dare!" Lexi turns smiling, "Truth." Bre thinks for a second, "Have you ever had a boyfriend?" Lexi laughs, "No, no I haven't." "How?" I chime in. Lexi laughs harder, "I don't know, maybe I'm just not as pretty as you." "Bitch, I am by far the least good-looking one here." We all laugh. Max puts his chin on my shoulder and whispers into my ear from behind, "You saying I have bad taste?" "Shut up." Max laughs and we continue the game.
After a few hours I check the time on my phone, "Oh, shit. It's midnight. We have school tomorrow and we have to go to bed." "Are you sure?" Max asks, "I mean you've had a rough few days-" "No I'm ok. Anyways I've missed enough school already." Lexi stands up, "Here, you guys can sleep in the room we put Sally." I nod and walk into the room, Max following right behind. I wish I could change but I have no extra clothes on me. I get into bed and rub my head. Max crawls into bed next to me and wraps his arm around me. He kisses my neck and cuddles into my back, "How are you holding up?" I sigh, "Okay? I guess, I don't know. How are you holding up?" Max responds in a quiet, sweet voice, "I'm fine. I'm just worried about you." I feel tears well up in my eyes, I quickly blink them away as I respond, "I'm sorry."
"For what?"
"Leaving."
"You don't have to be sorry."
"Yes I do."
"Sally," Max, much to my surprise, laughs, "You apologize for things that aren't your fault a lot, don't you?" I just shrug. Max grabs my waist and pulls me over to face him. "I love you." I smile, "I love you too." We kiss and I cuddle into his side. In a few minutes we fall asleep.
