Chapter 44

[Emily POV]
Jessie parked her Red Chevy in the mall parking lot. We got out and entered the closest clothes store. Macy's. When we got in Jessie sped walk to the dresses and I followed close behind.
"You really know your way around a store"
"Yep. Almost all of the stores in Buies."
"Cool so, what kind of dress were you thinking?"
" I don't know maybe like knee length."
"Same"
"What colors were you thinking"
"Purple, teal, black or maybe light blue"I said.
" Hm I was thinking black, lime green, teal or pink"
" How about this one?" I pulled a knee length lime green dress off of the rack.
" hm... It's cute but I wouldn't wear it. Ooh look at this one!!" She pointed out a black knee length dress. I have to admit it was gorgeous!!
" OMG I love this. I'll try it on if you try this one on!" I pulled a black and teal dress off of the rack in her size.
We walked out of the dressing rooms a few minutes later with our dresses on.
" OMG that dress looks perfect on you!!" Jessie said.
" Same to you that dress is tots adorbs." we laughed.
"Should we just get these ones?"
"Yeah. I like this dress.. do you like that one?"
"Love it, so we can just get these. That was easy." she smiled. We began walking over to the check out when Jessie froze where she was.
"SHOES!" She practically yelled, getting weird looks from the people around us.
" Oh yeah.." She lead the way to the shoes.
" Heels or flats?" She held up a pair of black flats and a pair of white heals.
" Are you sure you would be able to walk in those heals?"
"Uh j'yeah!" She slid on the white heals and walked back and forth in the isle.
"Plus, I'll be slightly taller for when I'm with Rhett."
"Well, can you dance in them?"
" I don't know"
"Wanna do a test dance?"
" In the middle of the store?"
"Why not?"
"Eh." she wrapped her arms around my neck and we slow danced in a circle laughing our heads off, one because we were dancing in the middle of Macy's. Two because she was about 3 inches taller than she was before, including the two inch difference we already had. I'm 5' 5", and she's 5'8", with the heals she was 6 feet tall.
" Yeah! I can dance in these."
" Well, you can walk and dance in them, and they give you a height advantage. You should get em." I said. She put them back in the box and held the box in her left arm with the dress.
" Now what shoes were you thinking?"
"I was just going to wear my black converse with them."
"Those old things? Why don't you just get new ones?"
" I mean I could but it's not like anyone's gonna pay attention to my feet at a dance, especially at night where it's already dark."
"Come on just get the shoes!!! It won't kill you."
"Fine. But only because those black high top converse over there are calling my name." I walk over to the converse section where the high top converse were and looked through the sizes.
"Oh no. they don't have my size..." I said sarcastically.
"Then get these red ones." Jessie said.
" Black dress with red converse?? Nuh-uh."
" Why not, like you said no one's gonna be looking at your feet and plus you can wear them during school too. "
" Yeah, I guess.. fine." I got my size on the red high top converse and we went to the check out.
We brought our bags to the car and stopped by Dunkin's on our way back to my house.
