( morning: courtyard)
" So what were you planning for tonight with you and Emily?" Rhett asked.
" And why would I tell you that?" I asked back.
" Because" he paused" I got nothing." he looked at the ground and back at me.
"wanna tell me anyways?"
" I'll tell you one thing! and you can't tell Emily!" I began.
"Got it" he replied.
" Okay so after school, I'm going to take Emily to-"
"BOO!" Emily said sitting down next to me." continue" She said putting her head on my shoulder. I looked into her eyes.
" I don't think I can." I said dazed.
" And why is that?" She said.
" because you're too damn beautiful"
" No I'm not. and beauty can't be a distraction." she said.
" Oh but it can" I said and leaned forward. She leaned closer and our lips met.
" I love you." I said.
" I love you more"
" Doubt it!"
" You see here's what I don't get?" I looked up to an unwanted face. I stood up, so did Emily and Rhett. Emily moved between us as He continued," why is it that... you still haven't gotten the memo?"
" What memo, Jake??" I asked becoming furious.
" You know the one where I hurt you and then you give up, and I get the girl." he said.
'Why Emily? Out of all the girls in this school?' I thought.
" Just sounds like a story that no one would want to read." Emily said. Jake stared at her before turning back to me," you better watch your back! Cause we all know how this story's gonna end!" Jake walked off. Soon after, Rhett did too.
" I don't like that ending." Emily said. I pulled her into a hug.
" Don't worry, this story is far from over and endings are for quitters!" I said comfortingly.
" And I'm not a quitter." I continued. She looked up at me.
" Nope, you're not a quitter, your a fighter, and he could never come between us." Her lips crashed into mine and we stood there for a while.
" Wanna go find Rhett?"She asked.
"Sure." I took her hand in mine as we walked towards Where Rhett usually is.
