[Emily POV]
After two hours of getting ready, Jessie and I left to go to the dance. On the car ride I fixed my hair one last time and stared at the picture in my locket.
We got to the school in a matter of minutes.
" Hey is that Rhett's car?" Jessie asked looking at the car passing by.
"Yeah, I think so.." We got out of the car and headed into the school. Once we were in and marked on a roster we entered the school gym where the dance was being held. Almost half of the school was already there. Over the loud music and chattering of the people I practically yelled to Jessie,
"When do you think Rhett and Link are gonna be in here?"
"They're probably in the line now and there's a ton of people so we'll be lucky if we even find them." She yelled back. Rhett came up and hugged her from behind.
"Never mind" she smiled.
I looked behind Rhett, to my left and right and turned around twice.
"Where's Link?" I asked after turning around for the third time, but Rhett and Jessie walked off somewhere. I rolled my eyes and pulled out my phone,
Me: where r u?
I sent to Link. I got an instant response,
Link: maybe I'm behind you... ;)
I turned around. No one. I looked around and turned back to look for Rhett and Jessie, but instead Link's lips crashed into mine, and we kissed in the middle of the gym. Everything around us was drowned out, the music, the talking, everything.
Everything was perfect.
I felt his arms wrap around my waist and I put mine around his shoulders.
Our lips parted, but we continued hugging.
" You look beautiful." Link says. "You don't even know how hard it is to not tell you that every time I see you." He laughs.
" Aww, thanks Link, and it really shouldn't be that hard, I'm not beau-"
"Emily Grace, you are with out a doubt, beautiful, and the best thing that's ever happened to me.Please, don't bring yourself down like that."He says looking down at me. I hug him tighter.
"Link, I love you but, I'm not beautiful. ."
"Fine you're not beautiful. You're gorgeous."
" No, I'm not Link."
"Yes you are"
"Nope"
"Yep"
"Nada"
"Emily?"
" Yes?"
"You're not going to win this argument, you know that right?"
"How about we save this argument for another time? For now, can we just you know, dance, at this dance?"
I listen in to the song that's currently playing.
"Do you know this song?" I asked confused.
"Nope."
"Okay, how about next song we dance? For now wanna come with me to get water?"
"Sure" we walk out of the gym into the hallway where a short table is spread out with snacks, drinks, and what not. We both get a water bottle and head back into the gym.
" Have you seen Rhett and Jessie?" I ask.
"No, they're probably around here making out or something." We laugh.
Centuries By Fall Out Boy
was playing.
"Wanna dance ?" I ask.
"Sure." Link replies and puts our water bottles off to the side where people left their coats and sweaters.
We moved to the middle of the gym and danced. We danced to maybe four or five songs, before Rhett and Jessie came up to us.
(A/N: I don't know if this would be a cliffhanger... but just make up a conversation for them to have because I don't really know, nor do I care what they talk about from now until the next time I write :)
So, for what I'm plotting for this story... I think this is the second to last chapter... maybe third to last, I'm still planning on how I want this to end.. But it all depends on this question:
Hair up or hair down??
Naw, I'm just kidding. The actual question is:
Should I make a sequel to this book? I'm leaning more to the 'no' side but I want your guys' opinion.
Welp, bai!)
