Chapter 43: Thursdayy

[Emily POV]
"Hey Jessie! Do you know what you're going to wear to the dance tomorrow?" I asked approaching her in the cafeteria. I sat down across from her and waited for her answer.
"Um... no, I was going to look for something tonight. Why?"
" Wanna go shopping after school?" I asked. Her eyes lit up and a smile spread across her face.
"YES! YES! YES! I love shopping! I get to find a dress and hang out with a friend?!"
" You don't go out with friends that often... do you? and um...after school we can walk back to my house and I'll ask to borrow my mom's car"
"No, silly. I drove to school today. We can just take my car!"
"Okay" we sat in silence for about a minute, when all of a sudden Link gets thrown over the table from behind me and lands behind Jessie.His head hit the edge of the bench attached to the table behind Jessie, " that didn't go as planned" he says rubbing the back of his head and laughing. I hear Rhett laughing from behind me and I turn to face him.
"Whose idea was this?" I asked glaring back and forth between Rhett and Link, who are now standing next to each other.
"It was my idea. I was trying to make a big entrance but I kinda went too far." Link looked over at the table he hit his head on.
"Why such a big entrance? And are you okay?" I ask.
"Yeah, I'm fine. and I wanted to give you this." he pulled a box out of his pocket and opened it.There was a necklace inside with a silver chain and a silver closed book, charm.
"It's a book, you know, for our story... and it opens up" he opened the locket/ book and it had a picture of us from the theater, but Rhett was cut out."sorry dude" Link said as Rhett looked at the picture.
"It's cool, I don't mind."he said. He sat down beside Jessie and I sat down where I was sitting before. Link stood behind me, putting the necklace around my neck, then sat beside me. He pulled a chain out from his shirt and smiled at me. He was wearing the same necklace.
