I hadn't had enough time to register everything that was happening as she completely shifted personalities. She was absolutely wicked and I could see it in her eyes. Narrowing my own at her, I scooted my chair in closer to the table.
"Well then talk, Nana." My voice had also deepened itself, and I leaned in closer. I was dead serious about this conversation with her, and Eunmi seemed a bit overwhelmed in the situation. She didn't like drama, I could tell she was the type of girl to keep out of it. Though we just couldn't stop this from happening.
"Or maybe just the two of us should talk." Nana mused, tilting her head to the side and glancing over me as if I was merely an object. She was already bored of me, and now chuckled softly. "Just you and I, Yujin. Because there's no way Eunmi would have a chance with Mark." Eunmi's mouth opened, and she couldn't speak. She didn't need to, as I slammed my hand down on the table and bit at my lip.
"This is what this is about? Worried that another woman will snatch up Mark?" I growled out at her, watching her lips curl up in amusement, her pearly white teeth glowing in the light from the skylight. I hated her perfection, of course only visually. "You put up a pretty convincing facade, but we all know."
Inhaling softly, I leaned back in my chair and crossed my arms over my chest.
"Mark thinks of you as a dangerous, psychotic bitch." Of course, I exaggerated a bit. But it was hardly a crime in the girl world, but if Mark had said it himself I would find it demeaning. Though I don't have time to feel sorry for Nana.
"He has one thing right." Nana flipped her hair back, the long auburn locks cascading down her back and over her shoulders. "I'm dangerous."
"If you want your life to continue to be in tact, you won't get close to my Mark."
"I'm sleep in the same room as him."
Nana laughed, for a second it was charming but I knew I was fooled.
"Get out. Move out, I don't even want you in the same house as him. Or I will ruin your life."
"Too late you witch, my life has been ripped up and crushed. Have fun trying to ruin it more."
Mark returned, and we all wore our best smiles, sitting up instinctively.
"Sorry I took so long." He breathed out, sitting down in his spot and leaning back. It was obvious he was stressed, and I knew the feeling after talking to her for a mere five minutes in his absence. Eunmi fiddled with her fingers, looking down at her nails which were painted a pretty red. Not sure of what to do or say, she began picking at them.
"It wasn't long~" Nana chirped, and I smiled, laughing halfheartedly.
"Oh it was long fucking time." I mumbled under my breath, obviously agitated as I lowered my head, resting it on the table cloth.
"Oh my, what's wrong?" Nana cooed at me, her fake look of sincerity washing over her face as I looked at her. She leaned her head against Mark's shoulder and I snarled slightly.
"Stomach ache, nothing to worry about."
Eunmi's eyes glanced everywhere there was to look, and my own just stared deep into the heartless soul of Nana. She raised a brow at me, her smile turning into a smirk before she raised a hand just slightly. I watched her move, and when she settled it on Mark's thigh, him and I both tensed. His eyes wandered around, looking down at the menu desperately. I took a chance, and kicked her underneath the table.
She laughed, withdrawing her hand to move hair from her eyes.
"How cute Yujin..." She murmured, and of course no one had any idea what was going on between us, besides us.
-
As you can imagine, it was unbearable. I felt so bad for Eunmi, because she was silent the whole time and couldn't stand the fighting between us while Mark was at the table. I could no longer stand Nana, the sound of her name made me want to start a fire and throw her body into it. Maybe that was a little excessive, but I hated her. And now I was scared to be anywhere close to Mark, and I know that would hurt him. Once out of the cafe, we all looked at each other.
"I'm going to go... um, go for a walk. Promised Bambam we'd talk, he just met up with his sister and. Bye." I turned on my heel and rushed away from the two. Mark watched me sadly, before turning to Eunmi and placing a hand on her shoulder.
"Nana wasn't horrible to you, was she?"
She didn't know if she should keep it a secret or not, but her hesitation scared Mark.
"Ah! No no, we didn't talk." that much was true, only because I was busy with wanting to claw her eyes out for threatening me and putting a metaphorical restraining order on me.
I didn't lie either, and I ran right over to the park, where I met the male who was wandering around. Happy to see me, we hugged shortly and we began our walk.
-
It was five days and six nights that past us. Early in the morning on the sixth day, I was packing my bag to go back home. I had spent my time with JB, with Bambam and helping Eunmi pack her own stuff. She left last night with Youngjae, and they were settling into their home today. While quietly packing at six in the morning, I sighed and made sure this time to make Jinyoung's bed. I rubbed my sweaty hands against the cool material of my leggings and sighed, fiddling with a loose thread on my crimson sweater. It was time to go, but it wasn't like it would be forever.
I took a step back, but before I could leave I heard a soft groan. I think Mark had awoken, and I froze. A few moments passed, and I heard his breathing slow. I listening for a while, until I figured it was safe to go, and I went to the door. Grasping the handle, I heard him stir again.
"Yujin?" He mumbled, half asleep as he hurried to sit up.
Rubbing his eyes, he looked over at me and frowned deeply.
"You avoid me and now you pack up and leave me in the morning?" Mark threw his sheets to the side, inviting me into his bed. "It feels like you're breaking up with me even if we're nothing, and that I did something unforgivable to you." He mumbled on. Giving up, I threw my bag onto the ground and walked over to him. Sinking into his bed, I leaned into his chest, looking at him as he turned over, so he was a few inches from me but not too close for comfort.
"What's up?" He wrapped the blankets back around us, with his arm around me, and I sighed deeply into his shoulder.
"I can't tell you Mark... I will be annihilated" My voice was quiet, like a child. That's when he knew something was really wrong. Frowning,he pulled me farther into him, placing a kiss on my shoulder.
"That's a big word darlin'." He muttered, his eyes lazily glancing over me. In these moments I used to think maybe he liked me, but now I understand he is treating me like a younger sister. Nuzzling into his embrace, I shook my head and sighed against him.
"She's going to ruin my life, just for being here. I don't want to hurt anyone more than I have to."
"It breaks my heart for you to have to sneak around me."
I shook my head, hating for him to say I was someone to hurt him. But he dropped the subject, and he just kept guessing. I wanted to cry in his arms, but then she would be winning, and I would be destroyed in her grasp and my life would be nothing and Mark would be unhappy. She could set fire to my house for all I care,
I just want Mark happy.
