Eunmi P.O.V

-

The fact that Nana was a few meters away from me, was making me forget everything I knew about me as a person now. I was still intimidated by her, no matter how much my confidence has grown. Because no matter how pretty I was, she was twice as pretty, and no matter how smart I was, she was twice as smart. I was snapped out of my trance when the lady at the counter called me to go, and I rushed right over. Even when I ordered, I kept stealing glances at that, even staring when Nana began to hold the man's hand. Was this real life? My old enemy was in the same shop as her, with the mysterious attractive man. I wondered if they had been together for long, or if they were a fresh couple.

When my drink was ready, I took it back to my seat, and while walking I think I heard Nana say she noticed me. When I sat down, I nervously shook my leg, looking down at my cellphone as I scrolled through my social media apps. I was sipping on my coffee when I heard the familiar clicking of her stilettos, and I glanced up to meet her soft eyes.

"Eunmi! So good to see you, I hope you're not still mad at me for my horrible actions when we were younger." She politely spoke, bowing slowly in apology. My eyes widened at this, and I shook my head, bowing back toward her.

"Ah! Don't apologize, I was the one that overreacted. I'm not mad." Well, I was a little bit mad, because no one can say that about any of my friends and get away with it. But I guess that sort of fight was more teen prone than anything.

"That's great, ah. I'm so sorry, I really want to make it up to you. Maybe we could be friends?" She asked quietly, her eyes still as sparkly as they used to be, and her hair still perfectly styled as always.

"Yeah sure." Why not give her another chance? It was a long time ago, and she was better now, everyone deserves a second chance if they can admit it was a mistake they regretted.

My eyes wandered over to the man she was just with, and she seemed to follow it. Then she gasped a bit, and walked back over to him. All I heard was her say she wanted to introduce him to me. So I waited patiently, putting my phone away in my pocket so I wouldn't seem rude to them. Then they came over, and I noticed she was about ten centimeters shorter than him, even with heels on. So I watched intently as he closed his book, and left it on the table before approaching me with Nana.

"Nana has spoken about you alot, she holds alot of regret. I'm Minsoo, her boyfriend." So I was right, he was dating her. But the only question I had was, why? I didn't want to sound rude, so I smiled at him, and shook the hand he had extended.

"That's great, how did you two meet?" I asked innocently, waiting for an answer that would somehow clear my confusion. Nana just seemed like someone who was the opposite of Minsoo. He looked well put together, very smart and inverted. Though I had a slim knowledge of Nana too.

"We met at the library, I was looking for a book and he was holding it. Then it so happened he complimented my anklet, which was quite a weird thing to me. Then I realized it was because his eyes didn't leave the floor, he was too shy to know what to say. I thought it was so cute." Nana explained, reaching over and taking his hand in hers, smiling toward him as her intertwined fingers.

"What made you realize you liked each other?"

"I was going through therapy for a while, I needed to sort out my personal memories and feelings... He noticed that every time I came to the library, I seemed to be getting a little better. I thought it was really sweet, and eventually he asked if I wanted to go get coffee."

I found myself smiled, both because I was happy and I was sad. She had to get help for her emotions, and mental state and I hated her without knowing. She just seemed like a strong woman, who got everything. Now I felt guilt eating me from the inside out, but I didn't say much, just nodded.

"Eunmi, Nana tells me you were in Canada. Did you see your boyfriend yet?" Minsoo brought me out of the pitying thoughts I had, and I sadly shook my head.

"I'm a little scared."

"To see Jinyoung? He's head over heels in love with you Eunmi, go see him. He'll be so happy. I always see him with Mark, and he's always saying how he much he misses you."

My cheeks heated up, and I smiled down at the ground. So I nodded, and thanked the two for the advice, and ran off to go see my boyfriend. It's about time I did anyways.

By the time I had went to the home he shared with Mark, I wondered if I should just ring on the bell and wait, or if I should check if the back door was open. Though I managed to just stay still and press the doorbell. Waiting patiently, I heard soft footsteps, and I began to fix my hair. It was a little bit messy, and my black dress was slightly crinkled. Tapping the toe of my oxfords against the concrete that led up to the door. I then heard the door unlock, and saw the knob turn. I looked up expectantly, expecting to see the male I had said goodbye to three years ago.

Though it was Mark, and he blinked at me.

"Eunmi? Hi, wow. You look great, so nice to see you again. I'll go get Jinyoung he's been so down when you left but now he'll just be." Babbling on, I watched as the male ran down the hallways to go fetch my boyfriend. Mark still looked very young, he was still the cool looking boy I knew even before this all started. So I walked inside, shutting the door softly behind me and shaking my shoes off, my lack stocking shielding my feet from the cold floors.

As I wandered into the new house, I turned on my heel and stared into the mirror. My makeup was still okay, my hair was in place, my dress didn't look crumpled, and my necklace was the right way.

This was good.

"Eunmi" I heard my name being called, and quickly turned. Jinyoung stood there, a smile on his lips as he walked over. I felt my body respond before I could say anything, and I ran into his arms. He embraced me, and I missed this feeling. Smiling so widely it hurt, I nuzzled into his chest and inhaled softly. He was really grown up, his smell even matured.

"Jinyoung, I missed you."

I heard his breath disappear into his voice, and he then cleared his throat.

"Eunmi, we need to talk..."

His voice was nearly silent, frightening me.
