GHA Chapter 54

I've been quite busy these days. Well, wala namang bago. Inaalala ko lang si Cyron. Ang dami kong utang na oras sa kaniya.

Para nga talaga kaming nasa long distance relationship.

I'd been traveling from one place to another because of multiple transactions I needed to attend to. I already contacted land brokers, suppliers, and manufacturers. Si Cyron busy din. Masyadong tutok sa construction ng Universal Mall para final phase na raw sila at 'yung office building ko naman daw 'yung aasikasuhin niya.

I missed him even more.

Kahit nasa ibang lupalop ako, I always ordered food for him. Sometimes medicine 'pag naku-kwento niyang masakit ang katawan niya. Kahit walang palya 'yun, tingin ko hindi sapat. Tapos 'yung binibili kong pagkain, pinipindot ko lang online at iba naghahatid sa kaniya.

"Jillian?" I looked at where the voice was coming from. "Nice! You have transaction here?"

That's Henry Lim. Sabay ang aming pagdating dito sa Ermita site.

I decided na i-surprise visit si Cyron. I really did free my time today just to meet him. Gano'n din kasi siya. Mas madalas nga lang. He always made himself available just to see me in person.

He messaged me early in the morning and asked my whereabouts. Sinabi kong nasa business transaction ako outside Manila. But little did he know, nasa bahay ako and I spent few hours cooking food for him. Wala talaga akong talent magluto kaya nanood muna ako ng mga tutorials online.

Well, little things mean a lot.

"I have business with a certain engineer," I answered, showing the folder I'm holding. "How about you?"

"Pinapadala sa'kin 'yung agreements. Iiwan ko lang 'to sa office ng Daddy mo. Your brother is waiting there." Pinakita niya rin ang hawak na folder. "Aalis din kami agad. Dito lang nagkita para sabay na. We are bid to attend a business convention as our family's representative again," he said lazily.

They were the favorite children, so they had no choice but to bear its drawbacks.

"Kumain ka na?" he asked, and I shook my head. "Let's grab some lunch later, then? Bago kami umalis ni Xian para sa nakababagot na meeting."

I chuckled. Naging kaibigan na namin siya ni Xian sa dalas namin magkita tuwing may meeting o event. Halos parehas kami na ayaw dumalo sa mga ganiyan dahil boring.

"Check ko muna," sagot ko at sabay na kaming naglakad sa loob ng site.

"Girlfriend ko na 'yung secretary ko," he shared after we put on our hard hats. I congratulated him. "You're really the best. Salamat sa'yo."

"Bakit ka nagpapasalamat?"

"Remember when you told me that we should reject and condemn marriage of convenience? You knocked some sense into me. Look. I can stand now on my own, having freedom to choose a lifetime partner."

I flashed a proud smile. May natututunan din palang maganda ang ibang tao sa'kin. Akala ko natututo lang ang iba dahil bad example ako. Tipong hindi dapat tularan.

"Nabigla talaga ako sa pinaglalaban mo noon. But in all honesty, you amused me. May significant impact kasi." Nilingon niya ako. "You can be a life and love coach, you know?" Humalakhak siya kaya natawa na rin ako.

We slowly stopped when we felt pairs of eyes darting at us. They were a group of men. Napansin ko na nagawi na kanina pa ang mga mata ni Cyron sa direksyon namin. Si Mr. Jaime ang naunang humarap at lumapit sa amin.

"Hindi ko inaasahan na bibisita kayo. O nasabihan kami at nakalimutan ko lang sa daming ginagawa?" nahihiyang natawa si Mr. Jaime. Ang katabi ko ang kumausap sa kaniya.
