I almost fell out of the classroom, as I tripped over myself trying my very best to escape the class as soon as possible.
I was both highly worried and seriously angry.
I made my way over to the bathrooms and found myself bracing myself against one of the sinks. Opening the water full blast, I splashed the cool liquid over my face which felt really hot.
I entered one of the stalls and grabbed some toilet paper, using it to dab my face. Leaning against the wall, I sunk to the floor holding my head in my hands.
I'm so screwed.
The timing on this whole incident was horrible. There was an emergency which basically everyone in the house left to take care of. Dad and the boys left the house as early as 3 in the morning to fly to Italy, leaving mum with the rest of us.
Just before we could leave for school, something came up causing her to also rush off. We left the house slightly later so that we could drop Tony off on the way to school.
In other words, when everyone gets back, they are gonna be pissed.
I groaned out aloud at the thought.
Well, aren't you just a disappointment?
A pit of worry formed in my stomach as I thought over the whole incident and I bit my lip. Feeling the overall frustration of the morning, I tugged harshly at my hair, pulling at the roots.
Why? Why? Why?
******************************
Enrico' pov:I ran a hand through my hair in frustration as we left the conference room, my brother's right behind me. The door slammed shut behind us, but we were too agitated to care.
A gun shipment worth five hundred thousand dollars went missing and the only explanation these weasels had managed to cough up, consisted of the driver getting lost.
Do they think I'm stupid?
Each transport vehicle had an inbuilt GPS, with the location having being input long before the driver had access to the car. All the person had to do, is get in and drive.
Clearly the answer is fucking yes.
I clenched my fist, my jaw ticking in anger. They would get what's coming their way.
Upon reaching Emile' office, I rapped out two fast knocks indicating that he would soon have more company. Not waiting a second more, I turned the door handle and entered the office.
My cousin cocked his head to the side when he noticed my anger, my calm facade slowly cracking.
Knowing better than to ask what's wrong, he left me alone so that I could calm down.Whilst my brother's updated those in the office - including dad and our uncles - I paced up and down restlessly.
I was brought out of my thoughts filled with murderous intent, by the ringing of my cellphone. Not bothering with checking the caller ID, I immediately accepted the call.
"What?" I growled into the phone.
"Mr Accardi?"
"Mrs Johnson?" I asked, recognising the voice of the elderly high school secretary.
What did the boys do now?
Dad gestured for me to put the call on speaker and I did as instructed, leaving it on the mahogany table. Pinching the bridge of my nose, I sighed and slumped in one of the chairs standing before the table.
Alright, let's hear it then.
"I was instructed by Mr Henderson to call you regarding Giovanna." Hearing her words, I immediately sat up straight.
"It seems that he caught her cheating during an algebra test they were taking today?" She spoke cautiously, seemingly unsure of the situation herself.
The heads of everyone in the office whipped towards the phone as they stared at the screen incredulously.
"Cheating?" I questioned slowly.
"It appears so. Though some of her classmates say otherwise. The reason I've called is because he has requested that her guardian be at school as soon as possible and refuses to allow her back into his class until then."
My blood began boiling again, all effort to remain calm thrown out of the window.
"Unfortunately I will not be available until after school tomorrow." I replied calmly. "I will only be able to see Mr Henderson regarding this... situation the following day. Would that work?"
The room was silent as we all waited for her reply. Muffled sounds came through from the phone as they spoke in hushed tones.
"Mr Accardi?" The secretary began nervously once again.
"Yes?"
"I've just been informed that both Giovanna and Armella have not attended several of their classes today. Giovanna has been absent since getting kicked out of class in the third period and Armella did not show up from her third lesson onwards."
What?
"Thank you for informing me Mrs Johnson. I apologize for my rudeness earlier. Both girls will be dealt with and I will escort Giovanna to school tomorrow to speak with Mr Henderson."
"I will inform him. Good day Mr Accardi."
I switched the call off and immediately began searching my contacts. Finding Armella', I rang the number waiting rather impatiently for her to pick up.
After several rings, the call was answered and a few sniffles could be heard.
"Armella are you crying?" Dad asked from beside me.
"What? No!" She protested immediately.
I could hear the familiar voice of Giovanna in the background.
"Is Giovanna there with you?" I asked her.
"Ye-yeah." She stuttered out.
My brows furrowed in confusion. She never stuttered.
"Would you like to explain why you both are bunking school? And don't lie to me." I added in immediately.
I could hear shuffling from the other, the sound of wrappers being crushed as well as a few curse words.
Just making it worse for themselves.
"Armella?" I spoke sternly.
Suddenly the sound of sobbing was heard through the phone.
"I'm so- I'm so sorry. I didn't-"
"Mal? Mal what's wrong?" Ales questioned worriedly.
"Fuck, Ella! You supposed to stay in bed." I heard Giovanna' voice come through the speaker.
"Here. I've got you, I promise, I've got you." She carried on softly."Giovanna?" Dad spoke again, trying to get their attention. "What's going on?"
There was more shuffling until it seemed like the phone had been picked up, her voice coming through loud and clear.
"Just- just come home please." She replied sounding lost.
