Nathan rubbed the back of his head, whilst pouting after Chloe had smacked him. "Ow!"

"That's for all the whining you did on the way here."

"Yeah, well I didn't know we'd return richer."

"Oh please you did none of the work." Brooke called out from the other side.

"Well it's not considered work if it's something they love doing, right?" He swiftly replied whilst gesturing to the twins, Seb and I.

"Well, he isn't wrong." Seb whispered softly.

"Shhhh." I replied placing a finger over my lips. "Don't let him hear that."

The 7 of us were returning from a fulfilled afternoon. When Seb and I had been on the lookout for something to do, a small street dance competition popped up. The best part, it had a 2000 dollar cash price for the winners.

Considering that the twins had never been to a competition more on the rougher side of things, we decided to take them along with Nathan, Brook and James  who tagged along for the fun of it.

The competition did not disappoint. Of course it didn't, we had won.

I personally felt as if I had won the moment both my family and friends accepted Seb rather quickly. They hit it off immediately, so much so we managed to throw a routine together in under 10 minutes and aced it.

The sun beat down on our backs, no breeze around to help cool ourselves.

"Last ones to the swings is on duty!" Nathan yelled and I stalled.

"What?"

"Move it Giovanna!" James yelled from behind me as I stood directly in his path.

The realisation finally set in as we neared the park and I took off running. Lucky for me, I had been an obstruction in the path of both Chloe and James so I didn't fall that behind.

"Hey!" I protested as I overtook Brook and she shoved me aside.

"Cheater!" I called out and continued pumping my legs, nearing James who previously had the lead.

Hearing my voice his eyes widened and he turned to glance at me, which proved to be a terrible mistake when he tripped over a root and stumbled forward.

I merely laughed and continued running, not particularly concerned about the human I was well acquainted with, that happened to be lying flat on the ground.

Dramatic child

I huffed out a breath as I finally reached out destination coming in third behind Sebastian and Chase. Plopping down on one of the swings I shot James a lazy grin when I noticed his playful glare.

He rolled his eyes in return before circling around the swing, and placing his hand on my back and pushing me forward. The swing jolted forward before it settled into a steady rhythm.

I relaxed myself, becoming limp as I merely enjoyed the sensation. My legs remained still, unmoving whilst my fingers curled tightly around the metal chains. I shut my eyes and leaned all the back, practically laying horizontally.

I opened my eyes at the last second - as I felt myself fall - my head tilted all the way back and the ends of my hair swept the sand.

"Are you insane? You could snap your neck!" I heard someone exclaim but I was too high on the feeling to care.

Righting myself in my seat, I waited until I had slowed down considerably before leaping off the swing, whilst it was still in motion.

"I don't think daredevil is even the word." James muttered.

"Try clinically insane." Seb piped up and I smacked the back of his head the moment I was close enough.

"I'm friends with idiots."

But I love them.

I groaned at the sight of the large building that I was forced to visit daily.

"School, fucking school." Ricardo sang from the passenger seat.

"Yay!" Gerardo cheered sarcastically from beside him.

The four of us let out another simultaneous loud groan before exiting the car, Ricardo slamming the car door shut for good measure.

Gerardo scowled at him, showing his displeasure at the abuse his car had to face at the hands the hell we've all had to experience.

School.

Eyeing the double doors with absolute distaste and resentment, I swore under my breath before grudgingly hiking my backpack up higher and marching forward.

You can do this. Just take it nice and eas-

"What the fuck?" I hissed and jumped backwards as hot coffee was spilled straight onto my t-shirt. My stomach retracted and I quickly grabbed ahold of the material, peeling it away from my skin.

Screw easy, I'm about to beat this asshole to pulp.

The substance burnt my skin and I expected my skin to be red.

"Watch where the fuck you're going." Gerardo growled out as he slammed the boy up against the lockers. Upon closer inspection I realised he looked slightly familiar. I just couldn't place where I had seen him before.

A shadow fell over me as Ricardo stepped infront and blocked me from the view of the nosey onlookers we attended school with.

"Shit. I don't have any spare clothes on me. I can take you home real quick? We'd miss first period though. Not that I particularly care." He mumbled out the last bit.

"No need." Gerardo answered as he joined the conversation. "Here." A black hoodie came flying away and I quickly caught it.

"Thanks."

"C'mon, I'll take you to the bathroom and help you clean up." Armella spoke from beside me.

"Aren't your friends waiting for you?" I questioned, noting the group who were standing huddled together with scrutinising gazes.

"They can wait." She replied shrugging, before grabbing my arm and dragging me off to the bathrooms.
