LIAM POV

It was exactly a week since Zayn and I had become a couple. None of the boys, besides Niall, knew and I doubt they even suspected a thing. We acted the same as we always had around other people. We had always been affectionate towards each other, so there was no real difference there.

Niall had asked if we all wanted to go to a party tonight at a club nearby. Clubbing wasn’t always my thing but I often went with the rest of the boys and had a great time. Besides having to watch what I drink; don’t want another kidney malfunction now, do we?

I was getting dressed to go out, wearing some smart dark jeans with my signature plaid shirt. I wondered what Zayn would be wearing. Well, whatever he wears, he’s bound to pull it off just fine; I don’t think he could look bad in anything he wore if he tried.

Niall arrived five minutes later, pulling up outside my apartment in his car. I had accepted his offer to give me a lift to the club just before Zayn told me Louis and Harry were taking him. It didn’t matter though; we would just meet each other there. I liked the fact that, although we were dating, not much had changed between us. We were still playful and silly with each other… just adding in a few extra kisses. I was glad of that, it made it so much easier to keep hidden.

Zayn was far different from any girlfriend I had ever had. Well, firstly he’s a guy, so of course it would be different! But he wasn’t just my boyfriend, he was my best friend, and that made it so much more relaxed and comfortable. Also, it wasn’t as if we were just getting to know each other, we had been friends for almost two and a half years now, so there were no awkward silences and always something to talk about when we chatted.

Niall was waiting for me by the front door as I checked myself once more in the mirror. I ran a hand through my hair, although there’s not much I could do with it being as short as it was.

Once satisfied with my look, I joined Niall outside the front door and shut it behind me.

“I think you’re spending too much time with Zayn, you’re starting to pick up his habits.” Niall joked, referring to me spending so much time in front of the mirror.

“Oh shut up, so I can’t try to look nice for a night out anymore” I replied, but not too seriously.

“A night out, involving your… boyfriend.” He said the last word teasingly, trying to get to me. I liked the fact that we had told him, I was good to have someone who knew what was going on. He was nothing but supportive of us but that didn’t stop him from teasing us about it most of the time. Although that was all just friendly joking, imagine what it would be like if we told Louis and Haz. They are even worse than Niall, and, although I’m sure they would be supportive, there would be no end of mocking from the whole band.

“Fine, so I’m not allowed to try to look good for Zayn?” I retorted seriously, not backing down from Niall, showing him I wasn’t embarrassed by the topic.

“Nope.” He replied cheekily, popping the ‘p’.

“And why would that be?” I asked, a smirk forming on my face.

“Cause you always look too good anyway, it’s unfair.” He pouted slightly.

I chuckled slightly “I know Nialler; I am rather stunning aren’t I?” He laughed and punched me lightly in the arm. We got in the car and drove off down the road. The club wasn’t too far to walk but, we drove regardless. Plus, it might encourage the boys to drink less so we can drive home… haha, fat chance!
