As always I came into work at the coffee shop, hoping to see him. He was the adorable, admittedly slightly older handsome man. Recently he became a regular coming in everyday for a black coffee and a chocolate brownie. He always read an odd looking newspaper I'd never seen before, and he'd always be on his own.

Since he had first come in I found him attractive, and now he was a regular I was desperate to know his name. 'Today is the day I'll ask him,' I thought to myself as I tied up my apron. "Hey (y/n)!" Susie said as she came in, her being on shift with me today.

"Hey," I said as I turned the sign in the window from closed to open.

"So, do you think Mr Dreamboat will come along today?" She teased and I felt my cheeks heat up.

"Shut up," I growled at Susie who laughed. She always teased me about him but admitted he was one of the more attractive regulars we got.

"You know he only comes in on the days you're working," she nudged me. I worked consistently, Tuesday to Saturday morning but I didn't know those were the only days he came in.

"Oh c'mon, that's just a coincidence," I said, admittedly hoping it wasn't

"Ask for his name today, get to know him, I'll let you sit down with him if it gets quiet," she said as our first customer came in. I just scowled at her briefly before turning my attention to the customer, the day beginning. As the morning continued I unintentionally kept a look out for my favourite regular.

By the time he came in the lunchtime rush had settled and I breathed in a deep breath before approaching him, notepad in hand. "Hello again," i said politely and he smiled his heartwarming smile. I spent a second admiring the scars on his face, particularly the one that went over his nose.

"Hello," he said kindly.

"Black coffee and a chocolate brownie?" I asked and he chuckled cutely.

"You know me so well," he said making me flustered. I got straight to work on his order and tried to build my confidence up to speak to him. I'd noticed that he didn't wear a wedding ring, but that didn't mean there wasn't someone in his life. I carried the tray with his order on over to him, him looking up from his book as I placed the tray down.

"You know it feels wrong, you come in here everyday yet I still don't know your name," I said and for a second I thought I saw him blush.

"It's Remus," he said with a small smile. "And you?"

"I'm (y/n), it's a pleasure to officially meet you," I said and he nodded in agreement. From that point on, every time he came in we ended up talking. Our conversations got longer and longer each time to the point where he invited me to sit with him during my breaks and whenever we weren't busy. Susie kept on teasing me but I didn't care, getting to know him more and more felt good.

About two weeks had passed and I was sat with him whilst we only had one other customer. "So what do you do for a living?" I asked, my hand rested on my palm.

"I'm... between jobs at the moment," he said somewhat sadly.

"Oh, I'm sorry," I muttered. "What would you like to do?"
