(Still Anika's point of view)
Ian is going insane. I called it.
Ever since Dru died he just hasn't been the same, and that was like a whole week ago. Ian's mom and Dru's dad were allowed to leave the hospital. Permitted they use a wheel chair and have someone with them at all times. Dru's dad was obviously devastated when he found out his daughter had died. He wanted to be with her, by her side. He hasn't been quite the same either lately. He was also very, well, surprised to say the least, about Dru's mom showing up.
"Ian, what's wrong with you?" I ask, not too politely.
"Dead. Dead, she might die." Ian mumbles, his eyes blank, not showing a single hint of emotion.
We're sitting in my living room. Ian and I on a small coach, and the adults on the larger one. Dru's father looking quite un-comfortable in between the two women.
"Ian, what are you talking about MIGHT die. Dru is dead." I wince at how harsh I sound. Ian just shakes his head. Realization hits me like a riptide.
"You're not talking about Dru are you?" Ian shakes his head.
Dru's father frowns, "Then who is he talking about?"
"Jordan. He means Jordan." I explain.
"Oh." Ian's mom gives Ian a pitiful look.
"Ian, I'm sure she'll be alright." His mom assures him.
He just nods his head, "Ya, you're probably right." He mumbles.
"So," I start, looking around at the group sitting in my living room. The awkward adults. The upset kids. A strange variety of characters.
"What about a movie?" I ask. Nobody answers so I say, "Alright. Movie's out." I stare down at my hands. The last few days have been so crazy. Then I remember something I was going to do before the incident at Ian's house. Well, incident is an understatement.
"Mr.Brown?" I ask, Dru's dad raised his head at the mention of his name.
"Yes?" He asks in a raspy voice.
"I was wondering," I pause, thinking of a way to word this right. "Can you find people?" I ask. Not the right way to word it. He looks a bit shocked at first.
"Um, maybe, why? Who you looking for?"
"Someone named Amy."
"I could try. I need more information then that, but why?"
"One of Jordan's old friends." At the mention of her name, I see Ian visibly wince. "I thought maybe if Jordan, I don't know, heard her voice she would wake up?" I say it as a question, as I'm unsure that my plan is the best.
"That's," Starts Mr.Brown, "A great idea!"
"Really?"
Mr.Brown shoots up off his seat and runs over to a phone. He makes a call then returns to where we are sitting in the living room. For the first time in a week I see him smile.
"I think," His smile grows bigger, "That I can find this Amy."
